Ok well let's all be serious here, I think most are just having fun. Babcock here right now makes ZERO difference. It's as if people were forgetting that the way this team is playing right now was the same then, which is a huge reason I can watch very little of them anymore. Not showing up for periods or games followed by spurts of domination. Using pure skill to overpower teams in a 5-10 minute stretch and being totally sloppy and lazy for the rest. The same types of things were said then as well about tuning out the coach and lack of leadership..etc. The problem is the core and always has been.

I love Matthews ability because he is on another level scoring. But my god I think someone said in the thread they feel there is something off about him. I fully agree there is something strange about him. Arrogant but at the same time not. Seems uncaring but sometimes he does. Can take over a game for a short stint and then just disappear for the rest.

Going back in history Im not sure i can point to a really good organized, structurally sound team since Burns.

I've enjoyed watching Simmonds more than any other Leaf tonight. This team is really lacking heart. It's gotta start from the core and it hasn't for years now. The supporting cast doesn't seem to much matter

I don’t think a random new support cast is usually tasked with turning around the culture of a room. Hockey culture usually doesn’t work like that.
