Even Spezza hasn't looked good after coming back
Maybe it has something to do with age and time off.

I had to check as I couldn't believe it. Leafs have decided to hit the slower objects more often. It can work.
Leafs have been holding their own and beating some solid teams. A Defense First approach and good goaltending will frustrate any team.

Off? I don't think it's over-the-top to suggest this is his worst game as a Leaf. He's the worst guy on the team tonight. He'll score now after me saying this because that's how life works for me BUT IT DOESN'T MAKE ME WRONG!

Spezza I'd give a break but for JT at 11 AAV man.... if you are having a tough time thats fine and understandable if you cannot get going offensively. But don't give away the puck in neutral zone. if you cant make the plays or skate just put the puck in deep. play safe at least ffs

If Mikheyev had a little more hands he would be a hell of a player. He has started off great this year, but the amount he fumbles the puck is astounding. Still like what he brings mind you.

US broadcasts are abhorrently amateurish. I’ve been watching a ton of Colorado and their announcers refer to “Mikko” and “Cale” like they’re doing a basketball game. It’s so painful. And on the Nashville broadcast the colour guy had to explain to the play by play that no it was Mackinnon who took the shot but yes Makar passed it to him when he messed up the call.
American broadcasting is so chatty and bad.

Clifford hasn't thrown a single hit on the forecheck yet, I'm not sure what his purpose is then.
It's why guys like Tavares and Muzzin are slow starters. The time-off will benefit him down the stretch but immediately after a break it ruins their rhythm. Older vets are all about timing/reads and going from cold-hot is harder as a player ages.
