What does that matter? Lots of former players with shit opinions. She’s right, the next generation of fan isn’t looking for line brawls, they’re looking for high level skill executed at peak levels.
If you wanna watch guys get punched in the face there’s endless options out there like ufc (which I’m a huge fan of) along with sideshow options like AEW WWe and bumfights.

I watch away feeds because they’re often at least to par.

It’s also not nice having to hear about Connor McDavid every five seconds.

Philly, Washington and Carolina and I know there were a few other teams (Seattle? St Louis? Colorado maybe?) that have absolute rockets, I’m sorry - very attractive women on their broadcasting teams and they’re articulate and know a lot about the game.

What do we get? When the game isn’t on TSN there’s Ron MacLean and his rambling, incoherent Canadiana, Kelly Hremedial, Kevin Bieksa who I like but I liked him more a few years ago and Jennifer who’s ok until she shifts into her ‘I’m a white, liberal woman and I am angry!’ tone.

How can anyone say this with a straight face? The league had Gretzky and Super Mario at the same time and it didn't make hockey into a household name, at least in America.

Trevor Zegras is not going to make hockey a household name. It is much more likely to drive longtimers away from the game than to bring some giant new base to the league.

Hockey people want to see hockey played by men. Jen Botterill represents a women's hockey POV where they don't hit.

I'm not a fan of fighting whatsoever, but I am a huge fan of hitting. A part of the game that should never go out of the game.
