I don't know what he's on about, but the real story is that TSN wanted him, but Sportsnet didn't b/c they already had their pbp roster. Joe wanted to do all the games on tv, so he chose radio for all games vs tv for TSN and radio for Sportsnet.

some of that for sure, but he would always call out the missed calls wnat them replayed and then talk about them some more, SN is seen as the National broadcaster and there is too much whinging from everywhere that isn't Toronto about everything being Leafscentric, pro leafs yadda yadda yadda, so he had to go, listen too him on the radio, he doesn't pull any punches

the NHL can't do anything about coaches except tag them with 25k fines when they point out nonsense calls

Guys like Jack Edwards gets away with it because he works for NESN/Delaware North/TD Garden/Bruins, the NHL as you know ask if it's OK with Jacobs before they do anything. The money that comes in from Canada is substantial, but Bruins/Rags/Flyers are a triumvirate they don't screw with
