I think they’re trying to play their lockdown game but it’s a fine balance between shutting things down with authority vs playing on the back foot. The former you’re still skating hard and playing an active disruptive game beginning in the neutral zone and the latter you’re collapsing to the defensive zone too much and you begin to hang on for dear life as the skating kind of stops.

A bit of an overreaction. It’s not poor work ethic. They are working hard. Calgary is playing desperate and trying to come back. It happens to all teams. If you’re down two goals you are going to pick up the pace.
