"Pretty lousy" is a funny way to say "objectively bottom-5 in the league for 2 years" for Andersen.

When we consider cap hits, it's arguable that Matthews has underperformed more than Andersen since they both returned from injuries.

Like I said... goaltending is a tough gig.

Matthews has 21 goals in 27 games this season.

Andersen has a mountain to climb before he's on that level of team impact

Matthews has played with his injury all season long. Andersen hasn't and he still wasn't good enough when healthy. .918 SV% Andersen seems like a dream at this point because that was a long while ago.
