Keefe was also fined $25k for "demeaning conduct directed at the officials" -- no comment from the league on why a blatant 4-minute high stick with 3-minutes left in the game that left our player spitting blood and needing zippers was not called. Instead, they fine Keefe for arguing. What a f***ing embarrassment.

wouldn't be surprised to hear this was something the team voted on doing. I understand guys want full days off, but with the afternoon game on the 22nd, they basically had 3 full days and 4 nights to get after it. I highly doubt they wanted to travel on the 27th and play on the same day just to get another extra day/night.

The Leafs know the rules. They likely knew they were going to get fined as a result. As long as the players were not upset by the decision to travel on the 26th then all is fine with me. If I were to guess, this was likely brought up in a captains meeting and given to the players to decide.

Leafs were probably happy to eat the 100k to give them an edge in the game, and all is well.

what I do find funny is that there were 11 games played yesterday and we were the only road team to violate this and decide to not fly on a game day???

at the end of the day, I just cannot see the players being in favor of flying on a game day. Makes zero f***ing sense to me. You'd have to imagine this is just the Leafs doing right by their players vs. forcing them back to work early

And Keefe fined $25,000 for being "demeaning to the refs". Best $25k spent (though Keefe might not think so).

The NHL owes MLSE millions for the refs stealing a series for T.B last year and Bettman owes the fans an apology for such egregious reffing for a starving fanbase that simply wants fairness come playoffs.

If I had the resources, I'd produce a documentary analyzing that series, the calls made and dives allowed.
