Was in Pittsburgh last weekend and easily 1/3 of the rink was sporting Leaf jersey’s, with a healthy Go Leafs Go! chant several times during the game.

Was actually really disappointed in the Pittsburgh turn out. Saturday night game and the rink wouldn’t have been 1/2 full if it hadn’t been for the Leafs fans.

Worked well for me, as I got to sit beside my son’s unexpectedly.

It's amazing watching all these videos and then listening to Matthews' comments.

He's not wrong but I would.argue his beef is with ownership. When actual Leaf fans are in attendance we are very loud. That just happen often at home. Most of those in the lower bowl might as well be at the opera.

Fans are quiet all over the building, it's just a reserved, reactionary, knowledgeable crowd. Always has been, always will be.
Most building I've been to are the same.

This thread brings back memories of the 'No Leaf fans allowed in the arena" Melnyk era. Well done.

So are the Leaf fans in other arenas less knowledgeable?

I've been in the upper bowl at Scotia and it's pretty crazy while the bowl is still.half empty.

You can't compare other arenas to the home rink. People are either on a road trip or if they are locals, excited to see their team once or twice a year.
It's like expecting my backyard pool to be like the swim up bar at the all inclusive.

I sit second last row since '99, the atmosphere is sometimes good, mostly quiet.
Regardless of the score people file out once it gets under ten minutes at every whistle, just happened this past Monday in a one goal game.

When I say the fans are knowledgeable, many go often to watch the game and talk with whoever they're with.
If the play warrants it, it gets loud but mostly you watch the game. I certainly have no interest in 'lets make some noise' on a random night in January.
