Leafs Fans Invading Other Arenas

You can't compare other arenas to the home rink. People are either on a road trip or if they are locals, excited to see their team once or twice a year.
It's like expecting my backyard pool to be like the swim up bar at the all inclusive.

I sit second last row since '99, the atmosphere is sometimes good, mostly quiet.
Regardless of the score people file out once it gets under ten minutes at every whistle, just happened this past Monday in a one goal game.

When I say the fans are knowledgeable, many go often to watch the game and talk with whoever they're with.
If the play warrants it, it gets loud but mostly you watch the game. I certainly have no interest in 'lets make some noise' on a random night in January.
Buffalo, Ottawa and Detroit are hardly 'road trips'. They are usually those who can't afford Scotia.

 You’ve never been have you?
Many times. The lower bowl sucks. They prove it game after game.

Buffalo I can imagine mostly are Toronto, Hamilton, Peel and Niagara folks heading down.

But Detroit and Ottawa/Montreal are mostly local Southwestern Ontario and Norteastern Ontario Leafs fans who are closer to those cities than having to travel to Toronto.

Just like in every other Canadian city for that matter.

Traveling to Ottawa or Detroit from Toronto is easy. Detroit is only 3.5hrs away. Not much longer than traveling downtown from Newmarket ;)

welll..... I prefer spending money on groceries that can go on for a week instead of paying ridiculous price/money for a 3 hour show

but thats just me...
I prefer the big screen and play by play calls, commentary. Sitting near the boards would be great, 1st 10 rows but as you say 600 plus for a pair add another 100 for parking and 2 beers, for half a night totally not worth it. I suppose if you add in the travel headaches it’s a full night. Upper deck? Been there done that, man I need binoculars and you can’t even hear the whistle up there. lol

I don't understand how people can speak to the atmosphere when they don't attend.

** I pay $12 to park, not sure where you'd park for $100.

Parking is 35 or 40 don’t know where you park. Beer 20 a pop. I can speak to atmosphere I don’t have to go more than 5 times to get the drift

I park at Front and Simcoe, $12.

Yeah like most buildings the atmosphere is pretty subdued.

if it wasn't for the suits home arena would be the loudest in hockey

P.S.

The last statement wasn’t wrong.

“Toronto should let fans from the nosebleeds come down to inject some life into the arena—they’re loud up there. Those lower bowl seats cost $2,000 each, but maybe a dedicated section for passionate fans, like student sections in Europe, could make a difference. Just get rid of the corporate crowd.”

That’s not a bad idea. TFC is already a blueprint of how that works.

Would make very little difference.
