Post-Game Talk: Leafs End the Season with a 4-3 Comeback OT Win

This is a really good team. 52 wins. 4th overall in the league. Great end to the season. We were clutch in April going 7-1 to take the division.
2nd overall in the eastern conference behind Washington- Toronto will have home ice advantage in the first two rounds and maybe even in the third one if Washington gets eliminated in the first two rounds of the Metropolitan division playoffs.

Toronto actually finished second best in the league in wins, can you believe it? They have won 52 games this year. Only Winnipeg, the top seeded team in the league this season both in points and wins, had more wins with 56.

Toronto also finished 4th in the overall league standings in points only behind #1 Winnipeg, #2 Washington and #3 Vegas in that exact order.

In the overall league standings, The Leafs are now clearly ahead of every western conference playoff team except Winnipeg and Vegas. LA, Colorado, Edmonton, Minnesota, St.Louis and Dallas all have less points than Toronto. They can’t catch or pass the Leafs in the standings anymore. Home-ice advantage will be a very important asset for the Leafs if they ever get to the finals.

Great to see Laughton score the winner.
He's been playing better the past 3-4 games, actually making confident plays with the puck.
Maybe it just takes a little time for a new player to get acclimitized to their new situation and Toronto is a huge market.
He should’ve tried to get Knies his 30th.

LOL, i was checking in on the game on and off, and i looked about a minute before regulation ending , saw 3-2 Wings, i said meh, no big deal...

Then i checked the scores for other games 10 minutes later and saw the 4-3 OT win. Hockey gods have been good. Lets carry this momentum into the playoffs!

was thinking of you of late, hope you are doing well ma but I refuse to give in.
Thank you for saying this my man, I am grateful to hear this. Brings tears to my eyes, I am confounding the doctors because I was able to put on a few pounds and recently I was able to climb stairs unassisted. Huge W!

Lets will the Leafs to win this year. We all deserve this!?

The game was not as bad than what shot saying...but this game just clarify It's Stolarz net

Woll still pretty inconsistent, i didn't like 2nd and 3rd goal, kind of save goalie should make in playoff and he didn't... With Stolarz, i don't think leafs would need to make a come back in this one...

On the broadcast they said Pacioretty is healthy enough to play but they couldn't activate him due to salary cap reasons?

Is that true? I do think Pacioretty in the playoffs can be a difference maker. Especially with his physicality.

Salary cap doesnt matter in the playoffs correct?

Leafs under Berube are a hell of alot more likeable than under Keefe.

Both Dubas and Keefe were buffoons. What the hell was Shanahan thinking? Talk about not respecting the game, hiring two completely green people to manage the team?

I used to like Shanahan, but he should be fires because this alone.

Finally looks like a real hockey team again, none of that soft, new-era experiment Dubas was trying to pull off. He was too busy trying to reinvent the wheel and prove he was the smartest guy in the room. Tree deserves GM of the Year for making this look like a real hockey team again jn short order.

Woll was playing behind a team full of guys trying to avoid injury, it wasn't going to look great in that situation

He still won though and will probably have a sv% of 910, that a nice little insurance policy if Stolarz struggles
