I think this whole argument here on the broadcast is really dumb. Of course message sending still has to exist, but I think Jennifer’s point is just that it shouldn’t look like that. An intentional high stick into the face of a player at the faceoff dot has no place in the game.

I agree with Botterhill here... Retilating [in the form of a cheapshot & attempt to injure] against a player who did not have anything to do with the original play is dangerous and stupid.

Leafs have been sky rocketing up the scf and hdcf charts over the last month compared to start of the season. Especially hdcf

Our crap record over that same span is all on the goalie who is now in the AHL

Who are we to say how that all plays out. Someone crosses the line they will be dealt with by the league, and if not, the team will have the opportunity. Do you want to see it, probably not, but it's not like its common... I mean, we came from there. Some folks (Jenn included) need to watch some 70s and 80s replays to see how retribution was handled back then. This is like playing with dolls in comparison.

Makes sense in theory but if you don't know when the retaliation will happen or to who you might be a bit more careful with your stick. If that was the case.

I was thinking the same thing…….this could be our Stanley cup game
For sure. Or, in a completely unpredictable twist of fate, the Leafs might win 3-0 or 4-1 since they are outchancing Anaheim by quite a large margin. It's always possible that the no-name goalie at the other end has the game of his life, but the odds of that are pretty low. The safe money is on the Leafs getting a couple of goals in this period and riding this one out like last night.
