Nice conspiracy theory...

They were apart until the Preds game, then put together again in the third period, where they proceeded to score two goals together in the first 2:29 to get the Leafs back in the game, and to the win.

Together, they've really been the only offensive spark in the last little bit... no matter how many black helicopters circle around.

It just so happens that Marner and Matthews were involved in the only goals last game.

Marner has 5 points in the last three games with Matthews on the ice. Matthews has 4 points.

Leafs have 5 goals over that time.

When your staccin the line you better be a plus line everynight were 0-2 with them starting on a line since they put them together let that sink in and we’re 4-0 something like that since they were separated post injury very telling we went from a 2 line team to a 0 line team same as the playoffs

Two games eh?

Despite playing like flaming hot shit, 2-2 in the last 4.

Watch them stomp the shit out of Jersey, as they have for about 4-5 years now, because Leafs.

Is Robertson scratched? If he cannot stay in the lineup when half the forwards are injured, his future is pretty bleak.

One trend for the Devils this season has been getting off to slow starts in games. Very often they’re down a goal or two in the first period.

They’ve allowed the first goal of the game in 9 of their past 10 games.

Ffs, split up Matthews and Marner. They should always be on separate lines.
Not looking like that will ever happen. Just when I was starting to like Marners game. He was starting to take charge of the team and now he will be back to being Matthews
Seems like something that never happened but to each their own.

I don't agree with Matthews and Marner together but when your two best players are different positions there is not many teams or coaches that don't play them together.
we watched how good Marner was when he was away from Matthews.
He should never be on the same line as Matthews.
When they are on the same line 1 plus 1 doesn’t equal 2, it equals 1.5.
we have seen this time and time again and it seems funny that Keefe could never separate them and now it seems Berube can’t either and it’s not because they are so awesome together over the long haul.
The only coach that wanted to was Babcock and they dispatched of him in short order

The only offensive spark? They've been abysmal aside from the two goals against a terrible Predators team. One of which Matthews admitted was a fluke.

From what I’ve seen, most posters haven’t been impressed with Marner and Matthews together so far.
