if there was ever a year to go all in and put your chips in and go for the best player available at the deadline it’s this one. You’re not going to get this type of goaltending every year. Stolarz is a beast! Woll is right there with him as 1A/1B. Our core are in their prime. It’s go time. Are we really going to sit by and wait for for Minten and Cowan to be full time players??? Imagine a Brayden Schenn or Scott Laughton with this group or he’ll go get Cozens
Not only that, but why acquire Tanev/OEL last offseason? In hopes that they don't breakdown when Cowan/Minton mature in 3 years? A player like Tanev is a warrior who helps a team go deep in the playoffs.

Reactions: JT AM da real deal
Nylander Tavares Marner line was outplayed by Seattle.

33 million dollar line and it's outplayed against a lousy team.

Matthews Knies Domi
xg 0.54 xga 0.09
3 high danger chances for, 0 against
Nylander Tavares Marner
Xg 0.17, xga 0.31 against
0 high danger goals for, 3 against

I remember Jagr faking that he was highsticked in a game vs the Leafs back in like the Pat Quinn era I think? and there was a black mark on the front of his visor from the Leaf player's stick tape but he was like blinking and shaking his head as though he'd been injured. Montour's performance last night was lacking in comparison.

I dunno, I feel like we got the better end of the blind refs tonight lol
Seriously, the refs were just terrible both ways. Halfway through the game they suddenly swallowed their whistles.

Meh, I don't put that much stock into individual game xG. Nylander had a wide open rush chance coming down the left wing and fumbled the puck (I'm pretty sure that was 5v5 although my memory is foggy). I'd say he easily scores on chances like that 25% of the time.

The Leafs didn't play a particularly good game but they were opportunistic on offence and they had Stolarz in net. If he allows a few leaky goals in the second, we maybe don't come out of it with two points. Woll has played really well, but Stolarz is a better goalie because he doesn't seem to give up those soft goals created by rebounds or long shots. Glad to have them both back in the nets again.

We all have our favs, I suppose.

Either that or Ferris is going to be repping Myers as well. :sarcasm:
I'd say McCabe, Tanev and McMann are my current favourites but really I'm just more a fan of the team.
Marner just needs more defending from all the unjust stupidity thrown at him.

Said it in the GDT but I’m pretty sure a Seattle player threw his stick at the end of the game to try to stop Nylander.
With an empty net that is an automatic goal.
Not that it matters with no time left and a 2 goal lead.

It's frustration from the playoffs. I have it as well; it's not completely unfounded; I just want to see a similar level for him in the spring, that's all.

Woll's season has been that of a middle-of-the-pack starting goalie, which isn't an insult. Like Andersen, he gives them a chance to win every night. Stolarz is just having a Vezina type of year.
