How'd I know Marner wasn't gonna score on that breakaway.

I've never seen anyone blow so many one-on-one's with the goalie as he has. To be fair he wasn't the only one tonight to do so. The difference is Marner earns a helluva lot more than pretty much anyone else on the team.

For what he demands to be paid he should be putting those away every time.

McMann is probably my second favourite Leafs player. So I was glad to see him score tonight. My favourite player is Knies and he got another one too.

They both have more goals on the season than Marner now.

Stolarz is a much better goalie than I thought he would be. If he can keep it up the Leafs will have one of the best tandems for the playoffs. This is the first time in the Matthews era where goaltending hasn't been a major concern.

Goal scoring seems to be a bit of a problem instead.

The story for the Leafs this season will ultimately be the Stolarz/Woll tandem. This is a rare, old-school goaltending duo who are both excellent goalies and they appear to be positively reinforcing one another to team success.

Brad is going to have a challenging deadline but I have confidence in he and Berubes vision of the team. Unlike other years, I can't say with confidence who would be the right pick ups, I do know that players in the Knies/McMann mold should be on the wish list.

Another strong D man? All of this might be too much to ask, at least this year, considering the Leafs available assets at the moment.

Fastest Leaf ever to 500 assists, third fastest currently active player. Ya man, he sucks.

--------------------------------

Stolarz was excellent in his return, and the team in front scored enough goals to put it out of reach early, and then held on well enough. Knies... he really has been playing chippy, and I love it. He's lucky he didn't have more trips to the box, but Karma got us with the Matthews call. Good effort, and I'll take the two points. A bit tough getting up this early, after watching the game, but it's Friday.

After the third goal I put my iPad on the nightstand and fell asleep….sounds like I didnt miss much.

Stolarz picked up where he left off.

McMann will be key to any playoff success they have.

Like Gord Miller said on the TSN broadcast, scoring in the NHL is difficult. Scoring consistently is more difficult. Mitch has trouble scoring and his goal scoring has been trending down.

They’re not a great team, but I still really like Seattle’s home uniforms.

I have nothing constructive to add since I only watched the highlights.

Regardless your stance on climate that is just a stupid name for an arena.

'After using enough concrete to build 20,000 homes and our parking lot for 5000 which uses enough asphalt for 3000 driveways, with a winning bid of $25,000,000 dollars, the Climate Pledge has officially gained the naming rights to our new arena.'

The Grindr.com Arena would be less clowny of a name.

My award winning post game effort posts are on hold for now since I've relocated...but I hope they beat Vancouver, I've got a nice Bad Luck Brian for them.

if there was ever a year to go all in and put your chips in and go for the best player available at the deadline it’s this one. You’re not going to get this type of goaltending every year. Stolarz is a beast! Woll is right there with him as 1A/1B. Our core are in their prime. It’s go time. Are we really going to sit by and wait for for Minten and Cowan to be full time players??? Imagine a Brayden Schenn or Scott Laughton with this group or he’ll go get Cozens

Didn't see this one due to the time.

Good to see them beating teams they should beat.

Also Stolarz returns looks to have played well which is good.

You'd think he already was given the praise some are heaping on him for assisting on a bunch of Matthews goals over the years.

Marner is just a rich man's Domi.

He can make a nice pass but that's about it. I'd rather have a couple more Knies' and McMann's for the price one Marner is gonna cost. Replace Marner with Domi on the power play and the results would be the same.

Every dollar extra they give Marner now is just diminishing returns.

Stolarz is the man. Has not missed a beat. Leafs will go on a run now.

Lmfaooooo, what happened to them missing the playoffs?

Straight up clown takes for the last 3+ weeks.

Did the exact same thing. It was a wrap. I watched 2 periods, more than I planned.

Other than the 51 points separating them, they are almost identical.

And he's a rich man's Alex Kerfoot in the playoffs.

I think they can move on from Marner and get 2-3 players that will have a greater impact to the end goal. I’m thinking one of those guys is a Nick Paul type and another top 2 dman.

Leafs need more discipline. 5 penalties last night. If they played a team that had a PP they might have lost that game

If you added 3 players @ $4 mil per = $ 12 mil AAV combined which are capable of scoring 20 goals each that equates to 60 goals total or pay Marner $12 mil AAV for 25-30 goals.

Depth is the key to success when you can double the production for similar costs.
