Pretty Meh first. Hopefully they get going better in the second.

Scoring wise Carolina doesn't scare me much. They have good structure and D.

Leafs just need to start breaking through and connecting on more passes.
 
The game plan of 48 passes before we hit the other teams blueline isn't going to work against these guys. More dump and chase needed, but not the pointless stuff we saw in the first.

It's easy to see why CAR don't give up many shots, the puck is out of their zone lickety split, and if they do turn it over, which is rare, it's not happening in their zone.

The positive is that we are only down 1-0 only on a ugly goal against, so we are only one shot from tying it.

The negative is it looks like we have absolutely nothing going for us offensively, can't get any sustainability in the o-zone or any pressure when we dump it in.

Oh for sure. They were scary. But they were also really boring to watch when they had the puck. Shoot from anywhere.

But nobody hits like some teams did back in the day lol
 
I don't think you can be upset with that period from the Leafs. Not great, as the Canes are suffocating our offence, but only down 1 goal that shouldn't have gone in.

Not a lot of offense that period but full marks to the Canes for not giving us much to work with.

This is a problem we have faced many times and will continue to do so

Hurricanes are a good defensive team and they are playing home
They'll line match

Had we played last night in Boston, it would have been similar. Leafs needs to fight a bit more for space

It might come down to coaching. Brind'Amour has the strength, body, nose, fysique, fitness, crossfit on keefe.... but keefe got that twerk. He still looks like a solid hockey man/guy. Really breaths and enhales this dirt.
