He makes a lot, they say.
Auston... Auston likes his money,Don’t bring Sir Elton into this mess…
Still no accountability last night during players media availability post game. "Ottawa is a good team, 4th win is the hardest, we're still in a good position" but nobody said they weren't good enough. Nobody took ownership.
They won their cups already:If claim to fame this series is one F/O win, it says a lot about how useless the rest of the time has been.
True but McMann is not someone the Leafs should be counting on to lead them in any playoffs series. We shouldn’t be making excuses for Bobby freaking McMann. You don’t see a number of Senators playoff newbies shitting his pants in his first playoffs. Win or lose they’re still doing a job. For McMann, you either do a job or you don’t. Guys at his level don’t always get the benefit of the second playoffs run.
Burke lived in Toronto when he was the president of the Flames.I've heard he lives in NY state. Does any other president of a NHL team not live in the city of the team he's president of?
Yup. I was just commenting he’s been fine this playoffs. I wouldn’t resign him unless it’s an a no brainer good discount.JT’s been good, but it would have to be such a team friendly deal for me to welcome him back, he’s not yhe problem, but he’s also not the solution either……
No reason to feel bad for Leafs fans. We can all take an open minded look at the team and continue to support them or not.I feel for leaf fans. Being 1-13 in close out games is just unacceptable for any franchise let alone a team with this much superstar power.
Scoring goals are harder than getting an assist. Assist guys are cheaper and easier to find and goal scorers are hard to find hence they are paid more. They need to get off their asses and score some goalsAgain, please tell me the difference between scoring a goal, and making a pass to someone else that scores a goal. They registered a point on a goal scored no? They were apart of the goal scored.. or am I incorrect?
We are taking as if the top guys are going 0G and 0A apart from the 1 game this series..
It just keeps getting worse
Nylander feels the most surprising there
We'll agree to disagree then on the overall chances for the Leafs that game. No, they weren't "just shooting the puck on net", look at the shot metrics and that easily disproves that notion.I disagree, we had very little good chances. Just shooting the puck on the net. And it’s been like that every year. Poor chances masquerading themselves like us “playing better than the other team and getting goalied”.
Aside from that, It’s not a matter of making the second round. I’m sure even these core losers can fluke out an elimination game against Ottawa in 4 tries.
These games are a sign of what’s to come in future series and that’s what everyone is worried about. People have zero confidence in this team. 1-14 elimination games is perhaps the most pathetic record in all of sports. Can anyone name a single team that has done worse? Marners 0 goals and 4 points or whatever is horrible and Matthews isn’t much better.
Fans are allowed to be upset even if they win this series. Only the leafs can make their fans hate having a 3-0 lead in a series. 4-0 shutout at home after fans being excited? Pathetic.
Nylander feels the most surprising ther
So they are only serious for the first two rounds and then when the third rolls around they just say oh well let's not be serious anymore. Fascinating. They also have 0 wins in the 3rd round if I am not mistaken.
It doesn't sound like they are serious once they hit the 3rd round.
Is that why it says "Stanley Cup Prediction odds". What are they predicting exactly? The odds are not predicting who will win.
No I'm saying you are wrong. So you are saying that people are wrong, ok, thanks for helping my argument.
You were the one crying in another thread saying "everyone here" wanted to get rid of the core. I guess your beloved core is worse than Carolina's theNo one mentioned Toronto, but sure, they do, but it doesn't make them contenders.
Wrong again. They make minor adjustments to the line later to make the most money. The initial line establishes the winer (Favorite). They try to make the most money, not predict the winner.
Not really. The reason they are the odds-on favourite is pretty obvious - they are the only team to be a sure thing to play in the second round.
Okay but that's preseason. Having seen how the regular season played out, they were probably somewhere in the third to eighth spot. If you saw them at the top of the list for a brief moment it's only because their series was the only one that ended. Take a look at the odds once two more series end tonight. Not really.
They were the 2nd favorite before the season even started:
