I just don't understand how this team, with their history, could be so flat in a game this big.

I think the history is exactly why they were. Imagine being the guys who have peformed this way all these years... must be heavy.

I mean it just kills us as fans, we have nothing to do with it, imagine owning it.

I expect it to continue over the next two games. Not saying the can't win them, but it feels like the Sens would almost have to implode for that to happen because anyone expecting the Leafs to come out and take a game are just ignoring all the past, stats and facts.

If we lose game 6 I'll check my work and do it again. It's not ready yet... I think I am missing a goal or two. If we have 6 leads plus the OT winner vs. Tampa, that's 7 goals while tied, so there's at least one I'm missing.

I agree entirely.

I don't know how on Earth they could handle Florida but games aren't won or lost on paper. I think they'll win G6 but if they lose this series is over; there's just no way they have it in them to win G7 after Ottawa hypothetically comes back from being down 3-0. It would literally be the worst choke in modern NHL history.

They way we played tonight reminded me the last 3 games we played against the Montreal when we blew that 3-1 series lead a few years back. Tired, scared, unexplainably demotivated... It almost already feels like it will be a game 7 with a similar result. Very sad...

Start Woll in Game 6

Stolarz keeps allowing the 1st shot of the 3rd period when we have a lead. Two games we held them to under 20 shots and he's under .900 both games. Ottawa knows to shoot at him because he keeps kicking out rebounds. Stolarz is not playing well or freezing the puck at all. It's also very evident his weakness is high shots, screened or not, like that Brady goal in Game 4.

Start Woll in Game 6, if he chokes, start Stolarz in Game 7.

I flew out to England yesterday and spent much of today wishing I could watch the game. Now that I've heard how Captain America and the other pansies in the core did, I'm glad I couldn't watch.

I've wanted rid of Marner for a while now, so even if they win the series and advance I am cool with losing him. A sign and trade would be perfect, but losing him for nothing is good too - addition by subtraction.

JT can come back, but only on a very team friendly deal.

I want BT to take a bunch of the money from those two and use it to get gamers, guys who f***ing hate to lose. But don't spend it all because the remainder will be needed in '26 when McJesus comes home.

The one series we won in the Matthews era, in 2023 vs. TB, seemed we were the second-best team but just threw pucks at the net and looked for seeing-eye goals and rebounds. It's how Ottawa scored the OT winner last game and the opener tonight. Maybe time to go to that plan of attack for Game 6? Try to win ugly.

That late third period gave me nasty flashbacks to Montreal when the Habs parked the bus and Matthews was furiously trying to wraparound things into the net. The post on the open net was so triggering.
