Great to see Murray respond to a weak outing against Tampa with an elite performance tonight. That's some impressive mental toughness

It was what he was known for when he first came up with the Pens during the back to backs. Particularly in the playoffs in 2016. Something like 6-0 after a loss with a GAA under 2 and a save percentage near .940.

Hopefully for his sake he's got the same swagger back.

Liljegren and Sandin with some of their best play in their young careers as Leafs. We keep saying the Leafs need to trade for Dmen when we should be developing our own prospects and so far they've been playing pretty damn well.

Also can we move Rielly? Good person, but defense looks so much better without him it seems. Get some cap relief and some assets back from moving him and use it for something else instead.

Everyone who shit talked the Murray signing from the beginning can take a hike. The guy's won two Stanley Cups and put up mediocre numbers the last couple years since he was playing for a garbage team and dealing with injuries. So happy to see him prove all the doubters wrong, what a stud.
Nope. I will not. I thought it was extremely risky. So sue me.

The tilted whistles continue vs another good team.

Unlike before, we actually dug in and played even harder. We have never shown resilience like this in the last 5 seasons. Is this the Murray effect? Penguins fans can confirm this lol?!

Stellar D. I think Leafs being bad on D is a thing of yester year.

Marner and Murray. Story of this season thus far. And the callups actually got some substance.
Papi doing a loop and taking another wrister is a damn good sign.

WOW LETS GOOOO

The rise of Sandin and Liljergen with these injuries has been great

When healthy you got Rielly, Brodie, Liljergen, Sandin, Giordano. All of them look like top 4 guys
Holy crap imagine one of gio lily or Sandin on the bottom pairing with whoever

If Mo-Brodie return to form, this dcore is gonna be one of the strongest, if not the strongest, we have seen in the dubas era, and probably even for a long time before it

Can’t ask for much more, great effort, great shutout, shut down a hot team. Great road game.

Timmins was decent considering it’s his first game. SDA obviously nervous, didn’t do much but survived without making any horrible plays.

Too bad about Mete. Hopefully Brodie draws back in now.

It's kind of the exact opposite of Campbell, where a bad goal turns into a bad game, which turns into a bad stretch of games. I still have some doubts about Murray's health, but he definitely looks like a winner. He must have hated ottawa

Leafs are blocking many shots and keeping it simple. Winning is tastier than just racking up individual stats.

With each passing game, Murray rewards Dubas. It is a goaltending duo gamble that either makes one look brilliant or can cost one their career.

Matt Murray's 44-save performance is tied for the 3rd most in a shutout by a Maple Leafs goaltender, according to @statmuse.

James Reimer (49 saves on Feb. 4, 2012) and Mike Palmateer (47 saves on Mar. 12, 1977) are the only two with more saves in a shutout for a Toronto goalie.
Jiri chira lol
Great stats man

Can't disagree with that; fortune favors the brave, go big or go home, and all that jazz.
