Great to see Murray respond to a weak outing against Tampa with an elite performance tonight. That's some impressive mental toughness
Nope. I will not. I thought it was extremely risky. So sue me.Everyone who shit talked the Murray signing from the beginning can take a hike. The guy's won two Stanley Cups and put up mediocre numbers the last couple years since he was playing for a garbage team and dealing with injuries. So happy to see him prove all the doubters wrong, what a stud.
Doubtful. The Leafs won and the goalie was excellent. What can he spin tonight? He is reading the posts though.Mess stopped by in the last PGT to let everyone know how worried he was about Murray after that OT goal he let in. Wondering if we will also hear from Mess tonight?
Holy crap imagine one of gio lily or Sandin on the bottom pairing with whoeverThe rise of Sandin and Liljergen with these injuries has been great
When healthy you got Rielly, Brodie, Liljergen, Sandin, Giordano. All of them look like top 4 guys
It's kind of the exact opposite of Campbell, where a bad goal turns into a bad game, which turns into a bad stretch of games. I still have some doubts about Murray's health, but he definitely looks like a winner. He must have hated ottawaIt was what he was known for when he first came up with the Pens during the back to backs. Particularly in the playoffs in 2016. Something like 6-0 after a loss with a GAA under 2 and a save percentage near .940.
Hopefully for his sake he's got the same swagger back.

Matt Murray's 44-save performance is tied for the 3rd most in a shutout by a Maple Leafs goaltender, according to @statmuse.
James Reimer (49 saves on Feb. 4, 2012) and Mike Palmateer (47 saves on Mar. 12, 1977) are the only two with more saves in a shutout for a Toronto goalie.
Leafs are blocking many shots and keeping it simple. Winning is tastier than just racking up individual stats.
With each passing game, Murray rewards Dubas. It is a goaltending duo gamble that either makes one look brilliant or can cost one their career.
