OEL is in disbelief and cognitive dissonance, as he plays the usual way, but get penalties right and left. Get used, Oliver, you will be tamed and neutered in a couple months as all the players joining the Leafs. Hit these refs with pucks whenever you can.

Even with that penalty or irrespective of it. He didn't have a great game
He made some poor decisions, espcially in that first goal

It sucks to almost blow it like that, but the virtue of having a 4-goal lead is that you still win even if you let in 3 lol.

I thought that this was a much closer game than the scoreboard showed. Not necessarily in terms of run-of-play but this was definitively not a tight defensive effort. Woll had to come up big a number of times to keep the goose egg through the first 50 minutes.

I don't think much changed in the last 10 minutes either: Just Tampa happened to get a lucky break on the Guentzel goal, some very beneficial officiating (shocking, I know), and drew momentum from that.

Finally, as nice as it is to know that Hakanpaa is next man up, we need McCabe to be healthy. Hopefully he's not out too long.

Robertson FINALLY did something.

Berube is NOT going to be happy with that 3rd period.

But on the positive side.

2 point nights from Matthews, Tavares, Nylander, Marner, Knies and Tanev.

Chris Tanev had a goal and an assist.

You get 2 points from Chris Tanev but better win that f***ing game, you DO NOT waste that effort.

Minten got another point he's producing.

I would like to see what he can do with Marner and Tavares for a couple games because if he's there that means Holmberg is not.

Not a pretty win but a win nonetheless.

Go get 1st place back on Monday.
