Post-Game Talk: Leafs Beat Panthers and Clinch a Playoff Spot 3-2

This game and the LA game are the ones where it’s easy to fold the tent and give up.

Leafs showing they can put their boot on a teams neck and not let them up
I know people have short memories, but the Leafs have won a lot of regular season games just like this over the last several years. It's good to get the points, but it doesn't mean anything more than that.

I thought we were better for two of the 3 periods. That was a tough game, nonetheless. PK needs some stability; PP still looks great lately (for the most part).

Yes, I’m really weird for being upset seeing our best defenseman, with a history of head injuries, get taken out when the playoffs start in 17 days
I feel the opposite. Rest McCabe for the next two weeks. They don't need him for the rest of the regular season.

This is a sign right?

McCabe will get some rest

you sound angry my friend

I have a long memory. Him doing nothing after Kaberle (one of my favorite Leafs ever) got wall papered pissed me off. I just think the guy is full of himself. I also can't stand the sun belt teams... it is easy to win when there is no pressure and nobody cares and league gifts you power plays (as seen tonight) when you need them the most.

A glass half full, half empty game. Considering the circumstances of Florida playing 3 in 4 nights, on the road, missing so many players. This won't hit their confidence and Leafs PK remains a major concern to me.

Stolarz reminds me though that Leafs could have a secret ingredient this year.
💯

Good night all around.

Clinch a spot
Big regulation win in the division pursuit
Big guns come through in a big game

Would love to avoid a series in Florida state in the first round

You didn’t watch the Four Nations Cup, did you?

Biggest game of the decade for Team Canada and Marner saves the entire country by setting up the winning goal with a magnificent picture perfect pass.

I actually thought the pass to Bennett to tie it up was even more impressive.

On the backend, Panthers are also missing veteran defensemen Aaron Ekblad(suspension )and Dmitri Kulikov(injury) Both players are expected to be back for game 1 of the first round. When they’re fully healthy, they’re a stacked, talented and deep team on paper and on the ice.

Let them face the bolts in round one so they can destroy each other.
Both aren't expected back for game 1 Ekblad is suspended for the first two games
