The top two lines tonight are the way I currently like them.

This was a game in the past we punt. It wasn't pretty but got the win.

I like Matthews and Matthews as the nuclear option when we need something late.
Before this game I would have said Marner with the second line and Nylander on the 3rd with Knies so he has some skill to play with.
But after that game I’m not breaking up that second line.

McMann - Matthews - Domi
Patches - Tavares - Nylander
Knies - Minten - Marner

I get that, I just don't understand why, other than the types of players they both were/are. But, to my eyes, he just accomplishes next to nothing. Ya, there were a couple of shifts where the 4th line hemmed the Ducks, but I didn't see Reaves being the factor that led to those 'good' shifts. And, while he may be 3rd in hits for the team, other than that one where he was suspended, I haven't found his game to be overly physically dominant. He's just so, meh.

Sorry for the rant.
There are lots of ways players can contribute to a successful team. Reeves plays a part in the regular season. It's not about putting the best players on the ice at all times, as weird as that sounds. Not in the regular season.

Don't worry, he won't see many, if any, playoff games.

Still just scraping by the Ducks after a tiring b2b for them....??

"not de bessst"

That said, we were always upset losing these Dec games against the Devils and Ducks, and now - while we still jusssssst barely escaped - it's at least with a W this time around!

Head coach Craig Berube spoke with the media and provided an update on Stolarz.

“We’ll know more tomorrow. Lower body right now,” he said. “It is concerning for sure. I didn’t see what had happened or anything in the game. Hopefully you get good news out of it.”

Can't wait till tomorrow when we find out he's day to day 😂

I heard Domi got himself an Amulet… has he even opened it yet?

Obviously it’s working for Tavares. ;)
What happens when you open them actually does it say on the packagings? Once opened are they unlocked forever or does it vary? Is there a limit / timer on power ? I follow Max on Instagram wonder if you can purchase multiple like Sticks or Boxes of Designer granola cereal from JT's , Uhm, charitable Organizations / slash tax havens like these amulets. Maybe they do something ?

D takes soft wrister, screen goalie, get rebound or tip in. Prosper. It's an easy game as the second line showed. Hopefully Stolarz doesn't miss many games.

Does tomorrow mean an mri visit to Dr James Andrews or just take a look after a nights sleep ?

Glad they got the win, but should not have been close given the skill disparity and Ducks with 3 in 4 nights.

One thing, the leafs have until end of this year in my opinion to truly figure this out. 2nd half of the season leafs will play a lot more tougher teams and quite frequently. Jan 4th to Jan 16 they have 7 games vs all playoff teams. If they play how they’ve been playing recently, battling for 1st in the Atlantic could turn to battling for a wild card

We won, but I’m not satisfied. The ducks were on a back to back, and it’s the ducks.

There is something wrong with 34.

Please stop playing Rielly and OEL together.

Domi needs to step up.

Reaves needs to get out.

Tavares and Pacioretty looked like they were both 25 again. That was some impressive skill and determination in close on the first goal!

Patches and McCabe make an instant improvement to the lineup. The team looks stacked when healthy.

Not sure how i feel about Matt Murray being our most durable tender. Fingers crossed for a tweak. Can easily be considered our mvp this year.

If Stolarz is injured with 2 back to backs coming up, call up Akhtyamov or Murray.

Hildeby has been the Marlies worst goalie and his .869 save percentage in his 2 NHL games earlier this season are a low bar to beat. Artur is 8-0-1, hasn't lost in regulation with the Marlies all season and is rocking an .929 save percentage (as opposed to Hildeby's .897). Give him a chance - or go with Murray. Do not try Hildeby again, he's not ready. He plays like a bigger Samsonov in net sliding all over the place.

Matthews isn't right

Horrible pairing, Reilly needs to be sheltered on the 3rd unit

Domi has been disappointing all season

Reaves never should have been signed
