You can tell guys don't practice fighting at all anymore. Nor do I think they should, but it's pretty funny.
 
I do agree the defense has been doing a decent job in front of Georgie tying up sticks and interrupting the Leafs. Scares me a bit how easy the zone entry is for Toronto but I guess that comes with the territory with their skaters.

As usual refs missed the action. I’m sure they assumed they missed something dirty by Pionk so instead of calling what they saw they assumed... the era of refs on the ice is over. And the NHL all but acknowledged this fact when they added the second ref. (And replay. And Linesmen calling majors...)
They really should be officiating from consistent and static positions.

You know what? There might be some glitch, or something was counted that shouldn't have been.

An xGF of 8.31 through two periods can't be possible. When's the last time anybody scored 8 through two periods?

Columbus — Montreal or Montreal — Colorado last year maybe. And there was one more really high-scoring game this year that I cannot remember. Anyways, I think one of those games had a team score 8 goals through two periods.

As to the instigator, it wouldn't really apply there. IMO. Hyman may have skated over and pushed him and goaded him, but that was a clear-cut situation of two guys sizing each other up, deciding to go, and dropping them. Hyman didn't force Pionk into anything. Had Neal skated away and Hyman pursued him, maybe, but that's not what happened. Neal knew what he was doing.

True. But stopping play to start a fight - and he did obviously start it - is a penalty. Delay of Game or Unsportsmanlike. But you’re right. It wasn’t really an Instigator. Fair point.
