It wasn't a clean two on one... He needs to slide aggressively at Anderson. I guarantee you that Brodie wouldn't have let Anderson rip a shot there.
Rielly is unable to read the play defensively. He also had a play tonight where he forgot he and Brodie had switched sides during the play and went hard to the left side leaving a Hab player wide open to walk on for a quality shot.
Where was Brodie on that two on one?

This isn’t against any of our players but we always seem to be scored on a 2-1
But don’t seem to score when we have them ?
Rielly is probably the last guy you want back there on a 2 v 1. He's always struggled on that play as far back as I can remember. He sits in the middle and let's the puck carrier get way too close.

Brodie has been nothing but f***ing awesome and carried this pair. Rielly has been dog water.

If you can’t see it - I can’t help you.

Did I see that last Habs goal wrong?

Looked like a bad bounce off an actually beauty chance for Brodie that led to a 2 on 1 the Leafs got decently back for, even with some pressure on the shooter but Campbell blew his positioning either just playing to far back or cheating a bit thinking there was going to be pass and did against, of all people, a shooter like Anderson.

99% of the blame on that is Campbell really.

A bad bounce is usually the cause of a lot of our 2-on-1's against. We play a really aggressive pinching system and it makes the casual fan think that a defenseman is out of position because they don't know how to defend when it was really just being aggressive. It is a risky system but Keefe would not be running it if it was not working more often than not.

I wonder if that’s a stat they keep? Leafs do seem to give up more 2on1 chances/goals than they earn.

No reason they can't salvage at least 1 point from this dumpster fire. It's not like Montreal is exactly lighting the world on fire themselves.

It was a 2 on 1 you muppet Mikheyev wasnt back to take anything away. Rielly played it correctly.
LOL. We can resort to name calling if you wish. The pass was already covered. And if you think Rielly was covering the pass here you might need defense lessons too. He took away neither.
Not saying Campbell shouldn't have had that, but lying to yourself because you're "sick of Rielly being picked on" for thing that do deserve criticism is kind of funny.

He got himself in prime shooting spot but his one timer was blocked. Unlucky bounce.
You mean he pinched and his 'muffin' shot was blocked leaving his partner out to dry right? There, I Rielly'd it for you. Anyway, moving on. The Bozak days taught me that goaters gonna goat. Regardless of the situation or how silly it makes em look.

Campbell is totally hanging his team out to dry.

I count one bad goal, not sure that’s hanging them out to dry. They’ve played terrible in front of him with Chucky even directing the puck towards the net for a tap in to open the scoring. He should of had the Anderson one, but beyond that the rest is on the players in front of him.
