1-2 steps towards our net puts him in the passing lane Stastny chose and close enough to Dubois to step up if a pass goes there. He needs to be playing it as a contain situation, which he isn't.

He makes a choice to pursue and pressure Dubois needlessly which opens up a dangerous lane. Ends up in our net as a result.

And if the pass goes to Dubois then it goes quickly to Ehlers as Rielly comes over to play Dubois and he gets blamed for leaving Ehlers alone. If he leaves Dubois then Dubois scores and he gets raked over the coals for not taking Dubois. No matter how that play unfolded Rielly was going to be at fault.

In actuality the only reason for that goal was Ehlers was faster than everyone else on the ice. Why do we always have to just look for a person to blame?

Every other shift. Would be interested to see what the game film is on that. He’s always out of position anyway but he’s gotta be doing something systematically wrong for this to happen all the time.

I’ve noticed he’s really bad for puck watching and sometimes is pretty oblivious to what else is going on.

Galchenyuk is going to have to answer the bell tonight by the looks of it
Galchenyuk is learning, as have so many before him in the Dubas era, that no one else on the ice with a Maple Leaf crest will have his back.

I know your game is skill and skating, Alex, but just drop the gloves and take your beating - you're on your own.

PLD is completely invisible. Then he becoomes engaged and is a complete beast. I think being too passive is going to become the story of his career ala Ryan Johansen. Will always leave you wanting more. Not a surprise he and Torts didnt work.
