This team really ain’t winning anything if they can’t develop the right instincts. We talk about their work ethic constantly. The drive to win isn’t actually there
As frustrated as I feel losing to a team like this, lots of good to great teams lose like this over the course of the season. Realistically I don't think it matters when playoff time comes as long as they finish a top 5 team in the league come seasons end. Still frustrating don't get me wrong.

I expect them to perform as expected in all moments. Their lack of killer instinct is exactly what has plagued them in the playoffs for a number of years. It continues to exist.

They will lose games. Literally all teams lose games. Them losing is not proof of no killer instinct

The “right instincts” lol, I’d call beating all the top teams in the league the “right instincts”

Just another quality take in this thread.
Believe it or not, the fortitude of a team when not facing a serious opponent is still important to maintain. They don’t put themselves in a position to close things out when they should. Says a lot about the franchise.

In a perfect,.imaginary world I would be looking to add ROR,.Luke Schenn and Bertuzzi.

Dubas has done very well filling in the right, value players. It is Goodreads ng to take some heavy lifting to build a tsam of Gamers willing to fight through it.

I personally think we get ROR and Luke Schenn. I can’t see DET letting Bertuzzi go. I think O’Reilly wants to be a Leaf. I don’t know if we’ll be able to extend him. Also Dubas is close to Doug Armstrong.

No, but their playoff history is. Not being able to close out games is the calling card of this team.

Carrying a lead into the third period against Arizona then dropping the ball is not a positive sign.

No team wins 82 games, but a team that is desperately trying to shake their reputation as playoff disappointments should be able to win ones like these. Especially when carrying a lead into the third.
