Nylander is demanding a 10+ mil per deal. Will any team trade for him? Not sure the Flames want Huberdough and Nylander eating up 21 mil.

Matt Murray
Nick Robertson
3rd round pick

Anaheim
4th round next year and 3rd round 24-25

The problem is that Toronto can not keephim he and Mathews willeat up almost all of the cap space next year.

Nylander to Chicago would not be bad justnot sure who you get in return

The return though will either be draft picks or so so players.

TO needs cap space

Why in the world would the Ducks want Murray? (spare me the 'Gibson wants out...' . He may want out but the trade value isn't there right now, perhaps at the tdl 'if' he still wants out, but for now he probably isn't going anywhere). Even if they were looking for a goalie to help shelter Dostal a bit longer (carry three, Gibson the starter and the other two 1b/1c), there are still serviceable UFAs that can be had for free. And as far as Robertson goes, the Ducks have lots of forwards, and a fairly small one (5'9") is pretty much the exact opposite of what PV is looking for.
TO needs cap space
No kidding. However, unless you have a big, beefy, NHL ready D-man to package with Murray, there's really no reason for Anaheim to be helping out with Toronto's cap woes.

Looking right now Anaheim is under the cap and needs a big contract to get them over. Taking Murray is not taking a goalie but taking a player that they canput on LTIR and use to get above the cap.

Robertson and the draft pick next year are payment for taking Murray off the Laffs hands. Will he play doubtful

Robertson is going no where in TO so the change may do him good.

I think Anaheim could be this years version of the YOTES in that they are going to have crap load of picks and a lot of young bodies.

The challenge is that Murray has a NMC

a team could take him as a pure rental giving up a late 1st/2nd+ prospect+contract with no chance of resigning him. Matthews about the same as a pure rental.

Nylander would be a fit in either Chicago or the Yotes. Both can afford him long term

Time for Boston to trade for Lindholm. That’s the best player to team fit.

for Lysell + 2024 1st top 16 protected.

They still need to sign Zegras and Terry, reaching the cap floor is a non issue.

There's also no guarantee that the NHL will allow Murray to go on LTIR as he was healthy/available to play through the playoffs. He of course could develop a sudden allergy to his equipment or something similar...but that may not be believed. So they have really no use for him, or at least not when it will cost assets (going with the three goalie scenario mentioned above).

Robertson, again, isn't a player that they could use, so including him as the payment for taking Murray is worthless. Him needing a change of scenery, on a human level might be good, but it isn't Anaheim's problem.

Moving Murray/pulling Toronto's nuts out of the cap fire is going to cost quite a bit more than a player they can't use and a pick that more than likely will be a bust/at best a minor league player (especially if you're also expecting two picks back as well...snort).

So, while this is great from Toronto's viewpoint and solves many of their problems, it does absolutely nothing to help Anaheim even slightly.

(I have no idea why GMPV hasn't been, in the past couple of years, been weaponizing the available cap for taking bad contracts for good picks/prospects. It would seem logical but here we are)

Nylander is better than Thompson and yeah knies is about equal to cozens. So....
With this hot take no wonder we are setting temperature records around the globe

OP was a Sabres fan trolling Leaf fans so I trolled him and as a by catch in my net I caught a Habs fan. Looks like the shitliner had a good day fishing.
And nobody reported you for trolling?

I don't even recognize HFBoards anymore

Seems fine but I want no business with Nylander if he wants more than 9M. I could justify 9 because Meier got 8.8M but not more. Calgary would also have to be certain Lindholm is staying too.

Problem for Toronto would be is Hanifin willing to sign there.
He’s reportedly only willing to extend in the us so that’s not a realistic basis at all
