McCabe slots in as a 3/4/5 guy he was averaging 19:28 ATOI on a bad team, probably slots in our 2nd pair. Playing heavy minutes.

This is an excellent value trade. Cheap depth for multiple seasons.

I like the consistent strategy of grabbing 2 pieces in 1 trade too. We have filled a lot of holes.

McCabe is a solid defenceman, good PKer, physical, and has average vision. At 2 million for the next two years that is phenomenal.

Honestly, 1st + 2nd for three years of McCabe at 2m is a pretty damn good deal. Even if you don't love the player a big physical 4D is a 2nd+ at the deadline every year.

If they don’t win now, it’s proof the core of this team is flawed and he has always been reluctant to deal from it. I guess on the other hand if they lose he will be given the chance to shake the core up. I’m just glad he went all in and not half assed

this is a good trade but come on dude do some math. In total leafs have up 2 1sts and 2 seconds. If your thinking the 3rd/4th/5th picks and cal foote have actual value not sure what to say

So (arguably) the Leafs paid less for all of ROR, Acciari, McCabe, and Lafferty than Tampa did for Jeannot.
