Maybe Minten will fit better in Boston?
Win-Win
If things go according to the usual Boston Toronto script Minten will turn out to be the next Patrice Bergeron.

Magic potion. It's not too long ago when theAthletic projected Minten as a 4th line center in our prospect ranking.
That’s their opinion minten bottoms out at 3c in my opinion the kid is smart defensively sound can shoot the pucc and he’s barely legally an adult ffsIt's not too long ago when theAthletic projected Minten as a 4th line center in our prospect ranking.
Should've not done the Laughton deal at all and if you still wanted Carlo then trade a 1st and Grebenkin at most. Laughton right now isn't doing anything more than Minten when he played for the Leafs and possibly even less. Should've just kept playing Minten at 3C and see if he could adapt and handle it and if not send him down and wait until next year. Giving up a 1st and Grebs for Laughton is looking increasingly horrible for the Leafs.
Give me a 20 year old Minten who will likely be at least as good as prime Laughton if not better for the next 10 years on the Leafs over a 30 year old center who doesn't seem to excel at anything for us that we paid a heavy price for.
Berube is probably the main reason Tre made the dealIf Berube won't use a player that isn't on the GM.
He was a mainstay in Boston as a top-four defenseman in prior years, but his play declined, and he wasn't a good fit with Zadorov. Zadorov is more of a physical, stay-at-home defenseman, and Carlo is also a stay-at-home defenseman, making the fit a bit awkward. They struggled together, and neither was particularly elite at moving the puck. He's been excellent, fits like a glove on the team for his role
It's been funny seeing Bruins fans bend over backwards telling us he sucks. Seems like he works just fine as a #4

I sure hope so! But whether that happens or not, the Leafs window is closing, they have this year and one maybe two at most after that before their D is simply too old to contend so if Laughton can help us now, that's way more important than what Minten might do over the next 10 years.Way too early to pass judgement.
Laughton hasn’t found his game here yet but that doesn’t mean he isn’t going to.
Price was heavy, but bottom 6 players like Laughton are the kind teams win with.
I expect he’ll make his impact felt in the playoffs
