Post-Game Talk: Leafs 5 Canucks 2

  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. The admin team will continue to work on existing issues, templates and upgrade all necessary available addons to minimize impact of this new version. Click Here for Updates
Those of you talking about standing up for your teammates are the same people who would have lost their minds if we had lost 2-0 last night because of stupid penalties after clean hits.

Not sure if your avatar is Christopher Lee's third nipple from The Man With The Golden Gun or that volcano on Mars, but it's compelling.

You can still block ads on Youtube with Chrome. Look up Tampermonkey.

I have Adblock for Chrome and it works fine. But yo be honest, I want to support web sites giving me free content so I have it off now. I literally installed it over how bad things got on this site but as soon as they fixed the issue with regular hyperlinks triggering redirection to advertiser sites (stealing IMO), I disabled it. Someone's giving me free content, I don't mind ads. Youtube is different though because it truly makes it unwatchable these days (multiple ads you have to click to get rid of, louder volume level twice as loud so I can't watch it at night, etc.). I'll be trying out Brave just for Youtube tonight.

I agree about Youtube, what Tampermonkey does is ONLY block ads on Youtube. It can do many other things but you can use it just for that.

Thanks If that works on Chrome I'll check that out first. I'm heavily invested in Chrome because of saved login information on like a hundred sites so Brave would be tough (I'd use it only for Youtube though if that was the best option). Like honestly, the ads on Youtube have gotten completely out of control. I could live with them if they weren't twice as loud as the content sometimes and wake up the whole house (and me while I'm trying to watch some boring science video to get to sleep).

This video will tell you how to set it up and direct you to the files, it's very simple.

What content is HF giving you? You are the content, they don’t provide any value beyond hosting (and they’re some of the worst at even that).

Thanks again.

Good point but they give us a free venue which I assume the ads pay for (plus some profit). Personally, I dream of the day we can all go back to Usenet where I was much happier but HFBoards took everyone away. I hung on to Usenet to the very bitter end and finally joined here in 2017. There are still a few holdouts (Google more or less bought Usenet too with Google Groups).

I think you’d be surprised by how much the ads make. You have a large user base of almost exclusively men between 18-50 with income levels that allow them/their kids to play hockey and go to games and they’ve already voluntarily divided themselves up by city for you, and you know that the eyeballs on the page spike between 7pm-10pm local time like clockwork.

Considering they only host text and images with all videos (other than ads) being 3rd party links, someone’s making a pretty penny on this.

Watched a couple of videos. Seems to work so far. Now I have to research whether either the extension or the javascript will steal my banking information. Looks legit as far as I can see. The world we live in unfortunately. In case anyone's interested, we are entering an increasingly dangerous digital world. A buddy of mine's parents got a voicemail from HIM a few weeks ago that was AI generated looking for money. Apparently they need 3 seconds of your voice to create a perfect imitation now. I'm 54 in a week. Me and my wife will be a prime target by this technology as it's perfected when we start losing it in a decade or so.

Thanks one more time.

Gregor makes me curious.

He's scored 2 goals like that, does he have a good shot, or just caught 2 keepers sleeping?

Possibly a very particular shot, so that when he has a little space and the opposing goalie is just barely out of position in the exact right way....boom, snipe city!

If you've entered it in while online. Someone or some entity has it. Basically the internet works like, anything you say or do online can and will be used against you at some point by a person, organization or entity without limitation. You have the right to remain offline, if you choose to remain offline... well we all know you live in a van down by the river.

It really is getting crowded there ...

Oh I know they have me. Between Google, Microsoft, Amazon, etc., I'm definitely completely exposed. You just have to trust these companies will protect your data to preserve their business models. The number of times I've had a cell phone conversation only to see the topic of discussion come up in my Google ads is beyond coincidence. Welcome my son to the machine.

There is no evidence that ever happened.
Only Sheldon, who ever whined, and whomever ordered him to call a presser know what really happened. I think to myself what could make someone stand up there looking like a fool and eating a pile of horse puckey and apologizing for "using the wrong words."

I ask myself why would Shelly do that? In the first place he was apologizing for something that happened in the team room with the doors closed, and not in front of the media.

How do I know?

Because the morning papers and morning sportscast had already been read and watched, and neither had mentioned anything about the coach freaking out on the team and using bad words or whatever while doing so. So, there is only one other way this happened, and I ask myself, what in the wide world of sports, would prompt an NHL coach into such a public display of supplication, what could prompt such a public display of contrition?

The ads and the page crashing for me is an absolute joke here. Worst site I visit, so disappointing nobody seems to care.
Go duck go works pretty good as well
