Simmonds heating up. Seems he has plenty left to give. Funny when the right vets come and mix so well with a young team like Spezza has too. Can't wait for Thornton to get back.

The sky isn't falling this year so far ladies and gentlemen.

Leafs in this division are for real. It's the playoffs they play for and they need to bring it there.

Hopefully they can maul van again Monday. Don't look past that but I can't wait for that Montreal game now.

When is the last time they were both doing so well and playing each other in a pretty meaningful game? The 70s lol

During all this bullshit I'm happy to have this division going this year. Fun to see.

We'll know how good we are when we play the Habs I felt we were a bit sloppy. We played an inferior team by a lot and we didnt button down. These cheesy penalties need to stop.

Feels like all the big weaknesses we had have been addressed so far:

1.) Defense: Brodie/Bogosian have been amazing additions, Holl has developed into a solid top 4
2.) Depth: Boyd/Spezza/Simmonds have been chipping in here, hopefully Kerfoot gets going soon
3.) Grit: Bogosian/Simmonds have added that solid element for us all while not being liabilities

Credit to Dubas for understanding the flaws with this team and addressing them. 9-2-1 is great!

Look, here's my biggest complaint about the state of NHL reffing: I can guess when a penalty is going to be called and when it won't be. Me. A fan. Looking at a two dimensional picture. That's f***ed up.

Simmonds and him have been huge additions to our team.

Had his best game of the season. Moved the puck well and was getting his shot on net with ease.

He has good offensive instincts and today looked poise and confident when jumping into the play.

If dermott is out for a while he definately has a chance to grab the 3LHD spot and run with it for a while

It doesn't help them prepare for the playoffs, or even the Habs on Weds. It's a bit of a confidence booster for players though.

They are all well paid pros, you play them as they come I suppose. I enjoy the character wins more myself, simply because it's a better gauge of why payoff success.

The game went as expected for me. Mitch and Matty are solid gold out there. Too bad Freddy lost the shutout at the end there. One thing that did stand out for me was the goal scoring celebrations. Why the stone faces? Usually the guys all have ear to ear grins. I can understand that reaction on an empty net goal or when you have a big lead, but this went on from the first goal of the game. Anyways, love watching this team!
