How Marner didn’t get a call for that brutal interference on Kassian or Yamamoto being tripped shortly after I’ll never understand. Of course moments later they tie it.

Game management strikes again. We didn’t play great in the 3rd period but man getting that PP with 5 minutes left could have been a difference maker.

I wonder what the statistical odds of having 1 PP in 3 games against an opponent are?

It is actually 2 penalties in 4 games. I just made a post on how *unbelievably* strange this is. Toronto got roughly 15% of the expected penalties they would get over a normal 4 game stretch.

Cue the celebration by the unbiased “national” broadcast.

- Drai was blatantly tripped right before that McDavid rush. No f***in replay or mention by Toronto Sportsnet
- This game showed exactly what Nuge will bring in a playoff type atmosphere. Can’t drive his own line. I’m ready to move on and give his money to other players, even Hall.
- Don’t know wtf McD was doing on that backcheck on Matthews. He ran into Matthews and then just was like f*** it I don’t need to cover him?
- All in All we should have won this game. Our talent > talent. But Leafs got the fluke ass goals and had the refs on their side.
Call it what it is. They have so much more depth than us.

I agree, but let's also note that Kahun is barely an NHLer at this point. Yamamoto did not do much, either.

But yeah, the 2nd line sucked tonight. RNH is working his way towards being let go...

Reality is Kahun is a borderline pickup. I mean at best he's a 15-20 goal scorer that has some skill on the puck but he's absolutely outmatched in topsix play at this level. In his defense on the 3-2 goal thats a hot pass by Nuge up ice, Kahun beats one leaf, gets stripped by the 2nd and its an NZ turnover. Kahun doesn't do a lot of that, but that was a tough play and leafs just swarming in third.

Trouble is that Leafs won this game on lines 2-4. We don't have the roster to match up.

Only the 2nd time the Oilers lost a game with a lead heading into the third. Only 2nd time Leafs won a game being down headed into the third.

Anyway, still a very good game, and the Leafs are much more the veteran savvy club and have a way deeper lineup. I mean on paper these teams aren't close, and the Oilers need a legend performance by Drai even to get the point.

Truth be told the Leafs are a really hard out in this division, and only the Oilers and Winnipeg are seeing the Leafs best games. They half ass against everybody else. People came into this game like it was gonna be Oilers rolling or something. Reality check is Leafs are just very good and have a lot of players that can beat you any night. The Leafs didn't even have Matthew and Simmonds in the lineup when they spanked us 3 games in a row. Leafs have now beat us 6 times, this is no illusion, and this is the hill the Oilers have to climb to get out of division. We're not near good enough and even if we won this game I would be saying that. Without help, and even with the Oilers allstars standing on heads it would be hard to take a Leafs playoff series 6 games.

Leafs are loaded.
Nah they are good, better teams in the league...We can beat them, they had tonnes of puck luck tonight.

McDrai is good enough to win us most games but against deep teams unless lines 2-4 play solid defense it's rough. And with that Nuge line being inept defensively too? It's not a setup for success. Not really blaming Tippett as no mater what, we have one line. Holland needs a trade.

We better not overpay RNH. We need an actual ES offensive threat to be our 3rd highest paid forward, not him. The Leafs have 4-5 forwards better than him offensively, the obvious big 2, Nylander and Tavares. We need a player like Nylander to carry the offense on the 2nd line or at least compliment Drai there.

6 points at 5v5 since January 25th.

Tied with Larsson and Russell for 10th on the team.

Just gross.

Just inexcusable. I love Nuge as much as the next fan, but he's not getting it done. He can't drive a line and he's not putting up any production = re-signed? God no.

Whatever. Take the point and move on. Come back on Monday and win.

Not gonna overreact to losing to a team like Toronto in overtime.

Since the Nuge line was put together, they have had abysmal possession numbers outside of like one game.

Makes me wonder if this is Tippets way of begging for a forward

If so I really hope Holland gets the message. Regardless of what lines we roll with, this team desperately needs a top-6 left winger.

If RNH and Kahun were traded tomorrow would anyone miss them?
Kahun? he's been on the team for 5 months ! RNH all his pro career, made the playoffs once and was a passenger, here in where the big problem lies!
