Looks like Poni has taken over the torch from Ladd on taking that late third period penalty.:shakehead

It's a whole team problem.

I'm just being a bully tonight and I know it. I just wish there was a game where we could depend on our goaltending to get us through a game.

I'm tired of sub .88 SV% games and tired of allowing 3+ goals a night.

We need buff and bogo back.

Pavelec needs to sort himself out because of the bs he pulled during the offseason to get his fat contract, then basically load up on cheeseburgers to show looking like a cheeseburger is un-acceptable. He needs to get pulled into the coaches room and smacked upside the head. Team isn't gonna give him the offense needed to mask his weakness. Start making the saves or or sit on bench and watch the team burn.

Ok, I'm done with my rant.

Tough loss. This one obviously infuriates me and better infuriate the players. Whatever is keeping buff better end quick. Hopefully bogo is ready to go soon or we're looking at high chance lottery pick in two weeks.

Scoring is not a problem with this team right now and we all know it

Really? Did you feel at any moment that this Jets forward group was dangerous and was going to score? It's fine and well to cycle the damned puck but you have to make plays at the friggin net.

The forwards are the number 1 reason we lost this game.

It's games like this that make me step away from my love affair and actually ***** the team. It's easy to get caught up in things when we come from behind and win OT thrillers, but it's games like this that show that we're just not that good of a team.

Sure, every team will collapse once in a while, but for us it is all the time. We're not getting clutch goaltending. Pavs isn't necessarily losing us games, but he's sure as hell not winning them for us either. We aren't getting consistent scoring, we really need a superstar up front. Our defence contribute to half of our offense, and as much as that says about our D, it says more about our forwards. Our defensive play is also sketchy as hell. As tough as it is to admit, right now, we just aren't a very good team on a night in and night out basis.

Same problem scoring goals as last season. Sure we finished middle of the pack in goals forced, but that is not indicative of the teams offense, in my opinion. At the trade deadline Ladd basically asked for management to bring in scoring help, that is how bad it was and how frustrated the players were.

By all indications, same problem this year. Forwards are far too mediocre, do not create, generate or finish nearly enough, and there isn't one single forward who is consistent on a game to game or even every other game basis. We have not a single player who can generate offense and carry the load for the team.

Pavelec was fine. Once again Ladd is weak on the puck at our own blueline, puck in the back of our net 3-2. Redmond doesn't clear the front of the net, Pavelec plays the shot 2-2. Postma just plain doesn't belong 1-1.

nice comment from someone who understands the game, redmond rookie mistake first one here to pointe that out

Well said. We need to find the back of the net just as much as Pav needs to stop pucks from getting there.

Bah. On to the next one.

Indeed. Half of the defensive game is keeping the puck in the offensive zone. That has to be helped by the forwards. Not once did I feel like they were going to score a goal.

huh? our forwards can't score, puts too much pressure on our D and our goalie can't come up with any BIG saves to keep us in it or give us an edge

Creating offense from the D is obviously the system Noel is employing. ~3 goals per game that the Jets are averaging is slightly above league average.

It's been hard for me to see the Jets handle the 3rd Period in games.

Hopefully they'll learn how handle it. Understanding that it may be a while till we have a legitimate contending team, consistency is something I definitely want to see in the future. As much as I was screaming at the TV at some of our guys. I can't really blame anyone on the team right now. Some of them look out of place at times, okay maybe more than I would like to see.. but again, I just hope we're going to be more consistent.

The only time tonight I felt the Jets were actually looking dangerous in the offensive zone was in the first 4-5 minutes..

After that, nope. Not even any attempts at just throwing the puck at the net on the power plays. 1 shot on 4 ****ing power plays.

This team is **** at cycling around the boards to each other on the man advantage, so why do they keep doing it. Just throw the damn puck at the net, with how incredibly shaky Reimer looked how could that have been a bad thing..

Nope. Let's just cycle it around the boards.

**** I'm pissed.

wasnt Helleybuck and Kasforf taken in the 6th or 7th round?

Year - Rnd - Pick - Player
2011 - 6 - 157 - G Jason Kasdorf
2012 - 5 - 130 - G Connor Hellebuyck
2012 - 7 - 190 - G Jamie Phillips

Year - Rnd - Pick - Player
1999 - 5 - 138 - G Ryan Miller
2000 - 7 - 205 - G Henrik Lundqvist
2003 - 9 - 271 - G Jaroslav Halak

Not saying these guys will become this, but goaltending talent is hard to predict.

Regardless, the draft will not come close to solving goaltending woes anytime soon.

No team in the NHL is going to score 4 goals night in night out. You need to be able to win games scoring 2 goals every now and then. The PP is awful on this team but I don't think it's the lack of goals that is responsible for our poor performance.

i see a line mix up in the near future, possibly for next game??? there is just no offense with the current lineups. I would like to see antro moved back on the second line....

No doubt i get what your saying, all i was trying to say was it would be nice to get a solid goaltending prospect whether that takes 4 or 5 years till hes here doesn't matter to me would just like to have something in the prospect cupboard

Was at game: Jets pp was absolutely horrific, we might as well decline the powerplay, and pav can't save us

I don't blame Pavelec, he was solid for the most part... None of the 3 were 'bad' goals. The second was arguably interference although it was close, I'd like to see a replay. Not too many goalies are stopping the 3rd.

Neither team was sharp but it was entertaining nonetheless.

 'till next time, love seeing the barn rockin' and best of luck in the SE; I can only imagine how insane that place will get for a playoff game whether its this or future years.

Great to have you guys back!

If the Jets are going to suck something fierce, this is the year to do it.

As fans we only have to endure 40+ nights of it, instead of the standard 82, whilst getting the same reward at the end, in what is expected to be a very deep, and top heavy draft, with a lot of offensive weapons.

Pretty obvious what the word is on Pavs around the league though. High glove side. I thought he should ahve had at least one of those...

Would you like a goalie taken in the first round? How did that work for the Rangers, and now the Islanders?
