So I was texting a colleague this morning regarding a project and she texted me back 'it's moving well for all intensive purposes'.

...Guess I figured out her gap in knowledge.

Nothing surprised me more when I figured out Hugh Laurie's accent
I was in that same boat. Also because he was the father in Stuart Little. Never realized that.

Ask her if she owns anything that's a diamond dozen.

any trades people in here?

I'm 25 and looking to get into a trade, plumbing or electrical. The only work experience I have is retail, so I'm not sure where to start, all the jobs I see online are for 2nd+ year apprentices. I was wondering if a pre-apprentice program was worth it to get a background, or is it better to keep trying to find someone who is willing to take me on

I'm in my last semester of HVAC at Georgian. Just did the college program because I didn't really want to work right out of highschool. I really want my 313A refrigeration licence though, and my final semester of school is actually really supposed to help me get an apprenticeship for that. I've been browsing around for jobs too and I have noticed employers mostly want 2nd-3rd year apprentices in that field as well.

I know a few different guys who went to college for different electrical technician type stuff and after a year or so of that they applied for the electrical union and got it in for apprenticeships. They would just drop out at that point because they were going to school to get that apprenticeship anyways. So if you were to go to school for that, you'll either get offered an apprenticeship, or finish the program and get a diploma. Kind of hard to lose in that regard.

The guys I know went to Conestoga for the electrical technician, and I know a few different guys did linesman courses elsewhere and got jobs before they graduated as well.

Lupul is such a hipster. I guess after Kendrick preformed or whatever he tweets out "I wonder how many people are googling Kendrick Lamar now". Dude, Kendricks been big for awhile now...hes not really underground...
