Great isn't even the word, seems trite somehow. But I don't know even what the word is, hard to find words to explain just how amazing a person and player Borje is and was.

I watched half the video. So helpless . I was and am in tears as I type this. I feel so so bad for his wife and for Borje and friends and family around him. What a terrible thing to happen.

My god...poor Borje. I just hope they can get that drug from canada and it slows down the progression. Best wishes to his family as well. I read an article and it sounds like they are very stressed. It would be nice if fans had a way to send them letters just to show that we're thinking of the family and Borje.

I'm so sad right now. So many memories. Met him a few times including heading to Maple Leaf Gardens during training camp every September in the 70s. Waiting outside to get autographs.

On a side note Who remembers writing letters to Leaf players and they'd reply with a letter and autographed picture?

This wasn't exactly the best class being inducted. Seemed fitting plus it sure seemed like the Swedes being inducted were glad to see him.

i was good friends with his daughter growing up (we went to school together) so i got to spend a good amount of time personally with him...this f***ing breaks my heart man. he is a great father and person all around. tomorrow i might even feel worse.

So very sad, Borje was and is a legend. Sittler crying brought tears to my eyes too. Hard to see your heroes get sick. especially with that brutal disease. He'll get an even bigger ovation tomorrow night as he should. If you were a kid and a Leaf fan in the 70's, 21 Salming has always been part of your life.
