This is an ugly and obnoxious thread.

Why? Swedes themselves are criticizing their team. Both players and coaches.
Granqvist said that not a single final game or something during the last six years is unacceptable.

Their former stars with Forsberg and also players like Nordström and others think that they dont come to compete.

And there is a case to be made when plenty of players form the NHL have accepted and represented their nation in the WC's?
Because it safe to write that a lot of the top teams will look different during the olympics? Even the American team who can win a gold medal tonight.

Why should a English nickname be more accepted or favored than the country he comes from? Makes no sense.

Winning gold medals before are something historical and fine. But if those players in their primes wont participate in a upcoming tournament. How does that then become relevant? Because was i talking about a prime Lidas or a Prime Jagr? Or will they play 2026?
I mean if that isn't ego boosting or being soft? What is?

How am i hyping Finnish players more than some others? Did you miss Drai, Pastrnak, Russian goalies and so on? Is there no room to have different opinions? And why do you get so provoked?

Do you see Canadians mention Gretzky or Lemieux? I don't, not in here. Do they mention a player who was hot a couple of years ago perhaps but not today, like say Tavares or someone? No, haven't seen that either.

Last but not least, are you seriously stating that Russia have been more successful in the olympics than say... Finland or Sweden? I mean people are hyping up Ovie and Malkin who clearly are past their Prime and they haven't won a single Olympic medal if i stand correct? So how in the actual h*ll do you think i'm hyping up the Finns more than others when i've clearly stated that i rank them 1. Canada. 2. US. Finland/Sweden at third.
I just dont share the opinion that Russia has a team on Swedens nor Finlands level. Weakest Dcore and weakest centers. By a big margin as well. Why is that controversial? If you have another take, shoot. Who gives a actual f*ck if we have different opinions? Or if my take is in minority?

They lost both of their last games at home with 1-6 against the Panthers.
He couldnt carry his line to anything note worthy against USA.

Thats 8 years ago. And dont get me wrong here. He is clearly better than Matthews imo. Marner is complete dogsh*t compared to Nyllet as well.
He's played the tournament plenty of times after that with very good rosters as well.

You know what the biggest irony here and in this site is?
People want the sport to grow. But god forbid if more countries come to compete and while doing so get some confidence on the way.
And the biggest thing then, god forbid if someone questions any of the bigger countries or their current level. It's fine to bash smaller countries but these individuals always fail to realize that they get just as b*tthurt as they are claiming that others get and so on. The hypocrisy is real.
Like what are we supposed to do in here? Lie or k*ss eachothers a*ses?

And i think the biggest reason to why people here get so mad at some finns like myself is because Finland could actually have a damn good roster in these next Olympics. And a lot of us are just truly optimistic. Is that so f*cking wrong or even surprising? Are we just here to exist to admire others? Like are you guys being real? I mean i think a lot of other "Smaller" countries would like to be in the same seat as Finland. Say Belarus or perhaps even current Slovakia? Who knows.

And the irony, inconcistency of talking about the past and stating Finland would be inferior to Russia in these latest Olympics or even last decade? Like how the actual f*ck do you guys comprehend facts and science irl? "No, let's just create a standpoint based on air and bash others because we are superior because i think so".

And the biggest indication on people cheering for "bigger countries" being the most sensitive? Making this thread about Russia or Finland. When it's mostly about Sweden. And the main reason to this thread was because Sweden both historically and lately during Olympics have been one of the greatest nations. A whole lot better than say... Russia. It's not a hot take even.
That's why it's interesting and valid to question their team and being curious about what fans and especially their own fans think or believe regarding the future.
