Glad we didn’t over pay at the deadline given how things have evolved the past few weeks..

will be an interesting playoff run with the team makeup as it is right now….. interesting line combos…

I know we couldn’t really compete with the Florida offer…. But can you imagine if we had blown the model up and severely overpaid like Florida did for Tkachuk? Man he is really showing he was the star of that top line in Calgary.. and what he’s doing in Florida as the season has Gone along…. Gosh would he look good here and we would be a completely different team right now….. sigh… what might have been…..

Reports of the Canes’ demise have been greatly exaggerated?
tomorrow night when we're playing a team that's not blatantly tanking should be a bit more of an indicator I'd think.

still glad to see us back on the right foot, especially since our competition in the division race is also playing a team that's blatantly tanking tonight, albeit one that's somehow putting up a fight.

He said he did it before one game and Aho scored so now hes has to do it every game.

Tripp is weird part 10,234,456.
For clarity, Aho literally asked Tripp to hit him in the face. So, Tripp gave him a light hit to the face.

Kind of surprising Aho would ask that, but whatever. Kind of strange all around, but I guess they're close enough friends for something like that (like brothers sometimes do).

Am I the only one who thinks Koko has looked significantly better these last 2-3 months than he did his first year+ here? He’s actually showing some top 6 caliber offensive chops in addition to the physicality and strong defensive play. Just needs to develop chemistry with linemates, a quicker release and some more confidence. Probably not as soon as this postseason (when we’ll really need him) but I do think sooner rather than later he’ll be playing like a clear cut 2C and his stats will reflect it.
He's improved, and I really hope he continues to improve. It'd be nice to have one less hole to fill on the roster. That'd mean forward wise, our only big concern is getting a winger for the top 6 (unless an EP tier center becomes available I guess; we go for that 2C upgrade).

Ey? Where I can buy the snapback Andersen wore at the bench? Can't find it anywhere.
Don’t know which hat you’re talking about but carolinaproshop.com usually has some different options than the nhl store. Shipping is a little pricey though. I’ve seen a few hats the players have that I’m not sure are available to the public though.

So he is on par with a national level announcer who called Burns Chatfield 3 times on one shift Thursday night. Kudos to The Big Rig!

Well, ok but Mike only calls the Hurricanes games and is intimately familiar with every player. Like I said I don't really care that much. More or less an observation but every now and then, I wonder how he arrived at the players name he calls when they're not even remotely close in skating/play style let alone appearance (or number).

Overall I like Mike. I think he's a good guy, and glad he has the job. So put your pitchforks away.

Mike is mid. No one was ever going to be able to follow John anyway but he’s not so bad. I do like how he has a few puns that he clearly comes up with in advance and is sitting on waiting for the right moment
This is the correct take. Mike isn't Forslund. Very few are. He's also far better than the worst people I've heard calling NHL games.
