Great stuff. From an objective view, as someone who likes Zeev as a prospect but is not ready to kill the teams ahead of the Wild who did not select him, none of the players on the ice for Northeastern are likely to play in the NHL.

I mean you can literally say that about 95% of the points any prospect scores lol

Man can only play against who hes scheduled to play against.

What you like to see is how is he scoring these points and this was a solid read and play. Most D men after making that pass will continue to hang back, but Zeev recognizing that theres an open lane and he can attack the middle drawing pressure towards him and opening up his teammates on the flanks.

Last reply since I don't want to take this thread off track as far as being about Zeev. Flyers are loaded with players similar to Zeev. They aren't as deep at center.

Buium was 3rd after Celebrini and Demidov for me, but I could understand not wanting to get burned again. Probably could have gotten more value from moving down IMO but I guess there's risk in that.

I didn’t watch the whole game but he was a complete beast in the first period and played a role in each of the Pioneers first 3 goals. The defensive positioning really stood out to me, he is so strong in transition, that will play very nicely in the NHL.

The offense will be interesting to see at the NHL level, he drives the net and often behind it for clever net front passes, on some teams that may cause issues, but the Wild forwards are very good at covering for D so he should be successful as long as his ludicrous one handed possession style works against the pro competition.

That poster is consistently trying to tell Flyers fans they have nothing to be critical of and that all of the team's mediocre prospects are absolute studs. It's weird, and apparently it extends to downplaying legitimately great prospects like Buium through insulting comparison.

I disagree on that pairing. Will be better to split them. Putting them together will probably force Faber to be more defensive, which would be a shame considering the growth in the offensive part of his game since coming to the NHL. Both should be paired with defensive Dmen, which will allow them to use their considerable offensive chops.

To be fair, they're likely regurgitating the talking points Briere put out... because that's exactly what he said when the Flyers passed on Buium. Not all "smallish defensemen" are created equal. Drysdale, Andrea, York, etc. are not close to the level Buium is (and will be in the NHL).

We've also seen a lot of cases where offensive D do better with other offensive D that can cycle with them and dominate possession. Quinn Hughes for example took off when he was paired with Filip Hronek. I know Zach Werenski has looked better with offensive D as well. Especially with Buium you're going to have a lot of weaving in the high zone and a lot of rotating around the zone, that requires the other D to be able to weave with him and rotate with him.

I am pretty happy for the Wild to have a d'man prospect like Buium, a goalie prospect like Wallstedt, and a forward prospect like Yurov to add to the mix next year, not to mention the Suter Parise cap hell ending.
Bright times ahead for Minnesota.

Zeev and Faber is gonna be, unfortunately for me as an Avs fan, just a ridiculous top pair for the Wild for the next decade.

Pios are gonna repeat with another natty I think. They are just so good, so well prepared every night. I’m not sure how much longer they can hang on to Carle…7th year as HC and he’s still only 35, coming off a natty and WJC gold and a chance to repeat both. Gunning for his third Frozen Four title.
