I think he and solo would be paired with grushnikov or Poirier for a defensive minded and an offensive minded guy pairing in the AHL.

The current roster guys (ie: Bean,Bahl, Hanley LD & Miromanov, Pachal, Hanley RD) would have to really crap the bed or get really injured in large batches for those young guys to play on the Flames.

Hanley and Pachal seem like career #7 types. If any of the AHLers show promise I can't imagine they won't be given a chance.

I think all four of those guys see time up.

Hanley is a 7th guy who plays both sides and will be UFA but Pachal and Bahl are both RFA. Pachal plays RD. Both RD need AHL games (Sorry, I mean Brewski not Gru on RD). All the LD guys need to go through combos of Bahl, Bean and Hanley. Bean and Bahl are still pretty young.

Next season though I'm not sure if graduating them to the press box makes sense if Pachal and Bahl are extended... Unless it's some crazy Huksa/Sutter hybrid d pairing idea where they carry 8 dmen and rotate the bottom pairing?

Is he lower than Grushnikov in the depth chart? I've read before the season that Grush(had a great preseason camp) is really close to making the roster, unlike Kuz
Always thought they about the same level of talent and both defensive defencemen
Looking at the stat line it feels like Kuz has more offence than Grush)

As a Canucks fan who hates the Flames and their prospects, Kuznetsov has really impressed me in viewings over the past couple seasons. He's big, he's mobile, he's physical, his rush defense is outstanding and his overall positioning and IQ looks sound. Pushing massive goal differentials this year. To me he looks like a guy who has a strong chance to be a mid-pairing leverage NHL defender.

Grushnikov just looks like a potential #6-7 depth physical guy. Much more limited player.

Grushnikov is a little more refined and his game is more mature physically and defensively but offers basically nothing in OZ. Kuznetsov doesn't offer much either but can at least keep a play going competently and not turn the puck over usually. Doesn't really have great puck skills but can move in tight spaces well.

The Flames have a lot of competition at LD in the coming years
Based enirely on how NHL ready they are it looks like
Solovyov
Grushnikov
Kuznetsov
Poirier
Morin

Jamieson

Jurmo

Based upon potential it'd probably look a little different. I'd like to think 1 or 2 of those guys could at least put in 100 games.
