From Jugnauth's perspective, that makes perfect sense. He likely feels he has nothing to learn from juniors and would like to either play in the AHL OR go to college. So he's hedging his bets both ways? If they offer an ELC, he de-commits. Can't sign an ELC and play college.
Crazier scenario is that he doesn't sign and becomes a free agent.
The only Kraken prospects playing D in Coachella are Fleury, Ottavainen and Nelson. Fleury is a UFA (Group 6) at the end of the season, and I would be surprised if he re-signs. I would be surprised if Jugnauth has not offered an ELC.
