I wonder how many of them are also getting 3rd pairing TOI and very little PP time?Sample size is still small. I know Dermott is viewed as stronger in his defensive game than his offensive one, but.......

I am much more happy with his play without the puck. We knew he had strong offensive skills and would do fine. He has looked terrific defensively.
Did you ever see him in a scrap?Loved watching him play on the Marlies and it warms my heart every time he takes the ice with the Leafs. Great kid and even better player.
He's ridiculously skilled, steady, and smart. That's what you really want from a top pairing defenseman.Dermott might be better than Morgan Rielly in 2 years.
Absolute stud defenseman.
Reminds me of a faster Kaberle.

Moves the puck out of the d-zone quicker than any other defenceman on the leafs.
meh, in his own zone probably but offence probably not, it will be close which is actually the scary part.Dermott might be better than Morgan Rielly in 2 years.
Absolute stud defenseman.
