Some of us actually like defensive play. 4 on 4 or 3 on 3 are exciting because they are gimmicky, if it was that way all the time it would get old with the high offense. 5v5 is perfect.

I think this is a great idea to kill off grassroots hockey at the development level.
Parents already struggle with the cost of equipment, ice, travel, development coaches, etc. alongside concerns about injuries and the like, and hockey players literally have some of the lowest-paid contracts in North American sports.

Now shrink the professional pool arbitrarily by 20%.
