I can't wait to see where this kid goes. He is a solid defenseman for the T-Birds. I am a T-Bird fan, so I have been able to see him play over the last two years. He has some issues with his decision-making, but as he gains more experience, that part of his game is shoring up. I am rooting for him. Go Shea!!

He was drafted by the Ducks 26th overall. Interesting to see a mix of him, Fowler, and Vatanen on the PP some day.

I watched the entire draft :). It was nice to see he was drafted relatively early. I thought he might go late 2nd round or early 3rd. He is a good kid, looking forward to watching his career progress. I am happy for Shea!!

i'm pretty satisfied with the defense we're building after the loses of Gardiner and Schultz. Everything I've read about this kid seems pretty positive and i like what i've been able to watch on tape the last few days....high end offensive abilities just cannot be taught, I believe under the right coaching he can be a competent defensive player, Scott Niedermayer has already done alot to help Cam Fowler develop as a defensive player, so i'm hoping he can hope Theodore

11 GP 5G 9A 14 PTS 6 +/-

On pace for 72 games played, 33 goals, 59 assists, 92 points, 39 +/-.

Special, special player. I've seen him live several times, and stats absolutely tell the story here. This guy has elite offensive potential, and highly underrated two way potential based on his skating ability and size alone. His mechanics are so fluid and technically sound with an upright stride with natural buoyancy and explosiveness, and he generates a significant burst of speed through his crossovers which is somewhat rare for a guy his size. Head up all the time in the offensive zone, using his large frame and high hockey Q to read the play and react to the defence rather than reach into a bag of tricks like many others. He has a unique ability to make laser passes off his back foot which is extremely hard to read and predict. His release is outstanding and he can get a lot of zip on a number of different release points which will fool a lot of goalies.

Just dynamic all around offensively really. Biggest question mark for me is his attitude foremost (seems to have a chip on his shoulder a bit, should grow out of it though), and also his ability to defend and become dynamic in both ends and not become just ok in his own zone. But my goodness does this guy have monster potential.

yeah he's good, i know +/- isn't the best stat, but cool that hes going from-60 the previous two years, to possibly a high + player
(I like guys with chips on their shoulder, maybe he feels he shoulda been drafted higher)

What a beaut.

I love this kids attitude in all the interviews I have heard when asked about being drafted by Anaheim, reminds me of Fowler with a little more spark.

Can't wait til he develops with his offensive upside and size it will be fun to watch.

He had a great attitude while he was in Anaheim for rookie camp and training camp and seemed like he was soaking up everything the Ducks coaches were working on with him. And the Ducks kept him in Anaheim for quite a while before sending him back to juniors---longer than I expected. I'm excited to see how he develops, and hopefully he will be playing with the Ducks in a few years.

Yeah. Count me among the people who were really impressed(and pleasantly surprised) with his attitude. A lot of young players look happy to be there, but he seemed absolutely thrilled with it all. It was really cool to see.

SOOOOOOOO UNTRUE!!!!... Has no attitude what so ever. A really really good kid. I almost want you to erase that just so rumors dont start on here with people thinking he has an attitude problem!!!

Theodore will end up the 2nd best scoring defenseman from his draft behind Jones.

He'll have stiff competition from Josh Morrissey, though.

Morrissey, Pulock, Zadorov, Ristolainen and Nurse will all be good offensively..... I think Theodore will be a 45-55 guy..... similar to Alex Pietrangelo offensive-wise.

He's going to be insane some day. 19 goals last season is crazy for his age.

I think he will become a top pairing guy in the NHL. As for this year, I don't think making the World Junior team this year. That is in spite of the depth of 1994-born defensemen. At this point, I think Theodore will probably make it over guys like Morrissey and Nurse.

Shea has an attitude. A ******* great attitude. He's shown so much excitement since the Ducks drafted him.

Will he keep his pace and be a PPG defender by the end of the season? At pro level he needs to get much stronger and he needs to be solid in the defensive zone. I've no idea how good he can become.
