This kid is insane. He leads the league in PPPs per game and has the same PPG as Klingberg. It's his first season. What's Ghost's ceiling? What can he achieve next year?

Smaller, left handed Shattenkirk.

It's a shame that almost all of them are not right handed.

Gostisbehere has exclusively played RD this season though for us. Sanheim can play both.

And we have Friedman, Myers and Alt who are good-decent prospects who are all RHD.

I mean, I imagine they end up with 4 LHD, 2 RHD when they should be ready to 'compete' which is the average around the NHL.

yeah, and I really like it when an offensive-minded dman with a shot like Gostisbehere plays his opposite side. It sets him up better to do what he does best.

Conversely, I do like the real stay-at-home defensive types to be playing their correct side because it makes it easier for them to clear the zone and stop pucks that are wrapped around the boards.

Provorov Sanheim
Morin Ghost
Hagg Myers
Friedman

:D

I'd probably recommend keeping Del Zotto around as the vet, who has experience playing with Ghost and pair Morin with Myers. Talk about a shut down line with 6'5 and 6'7" with crazy reach, great skating and some serious physicality.

I know that something's bound to go wrong but a defensive corps like that is what dreams are made of in this league IF they hit.

hes getting a lot of sheltered minutes but even then as a pp specialist or just an o-dman
what does he top out as?

The grind usually gets to rookies, Domi, Duclair, McCann, Fabbri, etc. They start to slow down even the next season like Bennett and Horvat (earlier in the season). I don't expect him to keep this up, and I bet next season when he does have a slow start, people will panic.

Why? They seem like an excellent compliment to each other, and have been paired together almost exclusively in rookie camps.

Because they're both going to get entirely different kinds of minutes if they both become what we hope they become.

People keep doubting him and he keeps proving them wrong. His minutes will go up, his even strength time will include more minutes with Giroux line. I don't see his numbers slipping much at all. Will be a lock for 15-35. Should be top 15 in points amongst dmen.

Your D pool is stacked, been saying it for a while now. Who is your top forward prospect as it stands? Konecny?

Yeah, it's Konecny. He's the only blue-chipper up front, though there are some potential middle sixers in guys like Aube-Kubel & Lindblom, among others. Hopefully the Flyers are able to add another blue-chipper up front in the first round this year.

Should keep in mind that he's never played more than 42 games in a season at any level, though. Down the stretch he'll probably have to be managed a little more conservatively.

Nah....we won't panic. Because next year we will in awe of Rookie of the Year candidate Provorov.

Then the following year will be Sanheims turn.

:sarcasm:

a puddle of drool just formed at my feet after watching that sick a goal he just scored.

15th on the year!!! :handclap::handclap:

if you want to see magic and elite footwork and shot, someone please upload the game tying goal Ghost just scored a bit ago against the Panthers. Simply unreal.

Honestly, it was a shifty move to get the shot through to the net, but Luongo simply flubbed what should have been an easy glove save. I think there's a fair shot it goes right over the net if Luongo doesn't touch it.

That said, when you are as dangerous as Ghost is, you're going to get a few lucky ones too.

the footwork and poise to pull that off at that time of the game is simply stunning. I can't stress that enough, how he toed that point with the game on his stick to pull off a slick move have the knowhow to get that shot through traffic and put in a spot that Luongo always has issues with, his glove..utterly impressive for a ROOKIE.

Yeah I mean Gostisbehere has definitely showed elite goals this season but that really isn't one of them. I agree it takes a lot of skill to create shooting lanes like he does but that goal is all on Luongo and I doubt he had the thought in his mind to shoot glove side because that is Lu's weakness. Still a legitimate star in the NHL and he did impressive work on that play but any other night I imagine Lu stops that.
