Don’t get the backlash to this post, they won 6-2 all even strength goals. Definitely unimpressive to be the only minus, the other guys on the ice would’ve got a minus for that goal too. They’re acting as if it solely affected Luke lmao. That is an unfavorable stat. He looked horrible compared to Quinn in his first NHL game which was at the end of his D+1 rather than D+2. I went to Quinn’s first game and he was electric out there, like watching Pavel Bure as a dman. Whole crowd was chanting “we want Hughes” in OT until the coach put him out there and he deked around everybody and nearly setup the winner, already had a point that game too. By far the least dynamic of the 3 brothers.
Woof.

Dominant game by Luke. The pairing of him and Dougie was outstanding.

Not to dunk any further on Jovo, but lol. That take rotted in record speed.

I don't think anything he says is serious at all. Like thousands of posts, dozens of serious posts. He is like Fox / CNN / MSNBC - not a source of valuable information but a source of entertainment. Enjoy it!

Superb take my man….

But … I was told he is crap because he didn’t light it up in the 11 minutes of his first game ?

Quinn is fantastic but pointing to one assist in his 1st game against the dominate 2018-19 LA Kings (28-40-9, 2nd to last in NHL) as proof of anything is pretty embarrassing.

Quinn was also extremely old for his draft class (October 14 bday) and Luke was extremely young (Sept 9 bday), they were the same age during their debuts.

And Makar has a Oct 30 birthday and was a 19 year old freshman, he was older than Luke when he debuted in the NHL.

I'm about 50/50 on that fact that I want to see him play in the playoffs. On one hand I'd prefer NJD to go with more experience but Luke's play in the final games of the season might warrant some playoffs ice time should other NJD defensemen don't play well to start the series vs the Rangers.

Does anyone know who the skating instructor for the Hughes brothers was when they were younger and how much they charge now? Need to get my kid cfonnected with that man or woman.

In TO, we're taking a similar approach with Knies. He's probably in based on talent, but it's much easier to bring him in when you need a shake up. The horses that got you there will get first crack at it. Tough on the kid if you put him in at the start, then need to pull him out after a loss or bad game.
