If he is signed he could play; Canes expect to sign him.

However, KHL playoffs will overlap to some degree; plus, he is signed until the end of May (don't know if his team would release him early).

I'm pretty sure he'll be released as soon as the season is over. So the question is when SKA's season will be over.

didn't play today, it was confirmed he got a concussion. crazy they allowed him to play like nothing happened.

That was a charge. Not the worst one I've seen, as Nikishin was moving in his direction also, but the guy jumped right up into him, causing his head to snap back.

What are rules on a player being eligible for nhl playoffs?

As long as a player is on a team's reserve list (drafted/acquired) before the trade deadline, he could sign after the deadline and be eligible for the playoffs.

Last year Nikolai Kovalenko (draft pick) joined Colorado after his KHL season was over and ended up making his NHL debut in the playoffs. Nikita Gusev (acquired via trade) signed with Vegas in April 2019 and joined them for a couple practices while they were in the midst of their opening round series against San Jose; Gusev could have played but it didn't seem like Vegas considered throwing him directly into the deep end of the pool. Similarly we'll see some NCAA guys wrap up in April and join their teams for the playoffs. Guys like Cale Makar and Charlie McAvoy would make their NHL debuts in the playoffs.

KHL changed their schedule this year so the regular season ends in late March instead of late February. So some guys still might be playing into mid-late May. I think I saw a reporter tweet that KHL contracts now expire May 31. Not sure if that would prevent somebody from signing even if their team is knocked out before then.
