NHL coaching contracts are guaranteed Denaros. Getting fired is way better for these guys because they can get paid to sit home with their grandkids. A lot of guys that get fired and "take time off" are getting the same paycheck they'd be getting traveling all over North America and dedicating 80+ hours a week to the team.

This team’s seen some horrible associate and assistant coaches over the years, but this season from Housley was legendarily bad.

Impressive to have essentially every single skater on the team regress defensively under your watch.

Aside from money, which honestly every NHL team can offer (our “advantages” are becoming less advantaged as time marches on… NYC is a shit hole and every major metro in the country is catching up… I would far rather live in the suburbs of Dallas or Denver or Nashville or even Phoenix)… it’s a good question. Why the hell would you want to stake your reputation on this organization when the next coach will be the 4th since 2019 despite two ECF appearances in that time.

Everyone associated with the team over the age of 30 seems to live close to the practice facility in Westchester anyway.

out of the last 15 winners only 4 were not in the top 5 in team save% (tocchet 7th, gallant 12th, hartley 15th, bylsma 8th)

one of the dumber awards the league gives and imo not an indicator of anything
