I was going to say I hope the boys can bounce back, but they won that game.
Hopefully for another strong performance.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord ServerRoy was ok. If he isn't engaged offensively he is pretty much invisible. I am not as high on this player as many on here are.I was going to say I hope the boys can bounce back, but they won that game.

This is what I've noticed, too and felt the Habs actually got it right sending him down.Roy was ok. If he isn't engaged offensively he is pretty much invisible. I am not as high on this player as many on here are.

He's gotta learn to do other things as at the NHL level he doesn't have the skill to float around for a lot of the game..
In fairness, I have seen him engaged. Remember the juniors? He can play that kind of game. This is what I've noticed, too and felt the Habs actually got it right sending him down.

After @Mrb1p suggested in a game last year to just focus on Roy and not the rest of the play, I did do that. I could see him make a ton of really smart little plays, especially in the offensive zone, that should make his teammates better. He also has a great shot which should help him score goals. Great offensive instincts too. I can totally get while people think if he can build around those things he could be a good NHLer.This is what I've noticed, too and felt the Habs actually got it right sending him down.

Absolutely. And this is why I hate when people say “call a guy up” because he scores a couple goals in Laval. Show some sustained success at the ahl level first. A few games doesn’t equate to a good season. Calling up Roy, Mailloux, ABB, Tuch, whoever won’t do squat to change things and in fact, it would probably make matters worse. If our prospect pool is so good, then we should have close to a championship team. Let’s see that happen this year and next. After @Mrb1p suggested in a game last year to just focus on Roy and not the rest of the play, I did do that. The problem is it's not a quick wave of the wand to be able to build around these things. He's not a finished product yet, but based on the many prospects I've saw drafted in my lifetime, he's probably at a part of his development rate is starting to slowing down.
I hope this year he spends most of his time in Laval, and maybe gets some more time in the NHL towards the season, and that he has a big off season and shows up to camp next year and performs in a way where he convincingly makes the team. Because if he can build the rest of his game up around his current strengths, he could be a great middle-6 player.
I’ve been more involved watching Laval games the past 3 years, that’s for sure! This will be a much better game to watch compared to what we witnessed last night.
They really need to start having these games on RDS instead of Habs. At least team competes, wins, fights, stands up for each other... A complete opposite of the "big" club.
Same lines as last game, so Beaucage, Perreault and Hayes in the pressbox.
His coach pretty much told him what he has to do to get back to the NHL.Roy was ok. If he isn't engaged offensively he is pretty much invisible. I am not as high on this player as many on here are.

I usually don't comment on the 'veteran' players in my summaries, but the Laval veterans in the last game were woeful and were outplayed, and outplayed by a wide margin, by the 3 prospects in the line-up ( Mailloux, Engstrom and Trudeau). It's surprising that Hayes is not back in the lineup.

My concern with him is he lacks situational awareness. He has the skill, so he puts up points when it works, but I find he too often forces plays leading to turnovers. This especially when playing the point on the PP.This is what I've noticed, too and felt the Habs actually got it right sending him down.

That's what I saw as well. Lindstrom and Jacobs were bad last game, no ideas why Hayes is not drawing in even though he's another LD.I usually don't comment on the 'veteran' players in my summaries, but the Laval veterans in the last game were woeful and were outplayed, and outplayed by a wide margin, by the 3 prospects in the line-up ( Mailloux, Engstrom and Trudeau).

Its not his strength, but his mobility makes his defensive game more than adequate for AHL level competition. How has Engsteom been defensively?

From what I remember, Engstrom is usually on RD when Hayes is in the lineup.I'm pretty sure Hayes played several of his games on the right (if not all of them).
Yeah I would hate to see Mailloux hurtYlonen has 0g 3a in 12 AHL games so far this year.
Hopefully Mailloux is fine
