David Savard is retiring just in time for Reinbacher to take over next year!
And a lot of posters were calling for him to replace Evans or Dvorak this year.Another Chipchura maybe
Wish this version of Primeau had existed in the NHL. He looks so in control in the AHL, like it's too easy for him. A real shame.
Did Reinbacher not injure the same knee that had been impacted by past injuries? If so, that’s the part that could become concerning but he does seem to have recovered nicely.I'm 100% certain he was in Montreal's plans this year. The injury really sucked.
I was a big critic of him, but seriously, I’d re-sign him and see if he can make it out of camp. Many goalies start to find their game right around his age. I don’t want them letting another Charlie Lindgren walk. I’m not convinced Dobes is ready for full time nhl duty yet.Wish this version of Primeau had existed in the NHL. Definitely not ready but he might be next season after a long playoffs run and a good off season this summer. And a lot of posters were calling for him to replace Evans or Dvorak this year.
% agree...he is so good at this level. Fowler has a bright future but you start the playoffs with Primeau.
I really like these lines. Every line is getting awesome chancesNow we are witnessing why Laval has the best record in the AHL.
I'm sure he would have been called up if his recovery went without a hitch.I may sound crazy but I think he could play in Montreal right now. I know it won't happen but he just looks too good for the AHL.
And Dobes doesn't give a damn about what you think evidently. There is a video out with all the best plays of this season you go and watch it and you tell me how many times you see Dobes in it. He is one of the main reasons we are in the post season and every player on the Habs knows it. there's gonna be a spot open for him on the right side next campI'm sure he would have been called up if his recovery went without a hitch.
Savard needed a rest and we didn't have the right type of player to give it to him.
Totally different players and your prognosis may be premature, but yes, prospects are prospects, until proven!!Another Chipchura maybe
If they decide to dangle Primeau and go with Dobes as the back up next year, what do you figure they can fetch? And Dobes doesn't give a damn about what you think evidently. I mean i hope Beck turn into a good NHL player but i have memories of people hyping Chipchura a bit the same way Beck was. But hopefully im wrongTotally different players and your prognosis may be premature, but yes, prospects are prospects, until proven!!
I have no idea. What I do know is I don't move a player like Dobes who the players love and are ready to go to war for. I remember saying exactly the same thing about Sam Montembeault after his first season when the players started showing a preference for him over Allen. The players always know.If they decide to dangle Primeau and go with Dobes as the back up next year, what do you figure they can fetch?
Based on his performances since being demoted to Laval, I very much doubt a team wouldn't claim him next season, if he were assigned.
On the other hand, if Dobes only plays 20-25 games next year, for the Habs, it may be better for him, long term to be the starter in the AHL next year. And Dobes doesn't give a damn about what you think evidently. Why he said himself he feels honored to be in a back up role. His attitude is perfect and his improvement like Sam's will come from the work he puts in between games.
