after starting out 12-2 Laval is 10-11 in their last 21 games so they can't take anyone lightly. They have a serious goal scoring problem. Only 6 players have scored more then 5 goals. Roy and Davidson with 14 each and Dauphin with 11, Beck at 8 and Xhekaj/ABB with 7. So the only 2 players that have been able to score goals most nights (Dauphin as picked it up after a slow start)
Laval started 12-2, went on a 3-8 stretch and have now been 7-3 in the last 10.
For the goalscoring to be fair, apart from Rochester who have 11, the rest of the North are pretty close for scorers. Cleveland has 7 (17, 14, 9, 9, 7, 6), Toronto has 5 (19, 13, 9, 8, 6), Syracuse has 6 (11, 8, 8, 8, 7, 6), Belleville has 4 (13, 13, 8, 6) and Utica 4 (13, 10, 8, 7).
They do have to do better, but they should be playoff team either way at this point.
Will be interesting to see how the Habs do (if we stay in the WC) and if they decide to make some of Heineman, Hutson, Dobes and Xhekaj available for the AHL playoffs. That would had some serious firepower. Wouldn't be opposed to trading a guy like Kidney to a bottom AHL team for an older better AHLer.
