Who knows, maybe his PTO is pretty nice, they can pretty much agrees to any amount, and they pay for his accommodations.
Problem is another team can sign him. Might have to be an nhl contract, but he could get scooped. He said something like that in one of his videos.

Not taking anything away from Houle but what's your take on some recent comments by pundits that Arber joining the lineup has helped propel them to their current winning ways? Arber has been getting first pairing minutes and seems to have gelled with Mailloux into a solid duo.

Arber has been a big part of the success but it just goes to show that Houle wasn't ruining anything, he just did not have the personnel to succeed and the kids needed time to adapt and grow. He was also getting atrocious goaltending to start the season which would kill any team. The narrative of assigning all/too much of the credit to Xhekaj is just an old fashioned tactic of moving goal posts in order to protect a debunked bias/assertion. When Xhekaj returns to Montreal they will certainly take a hit as would any team losing their best player. The point is that given the proper personnel Houle has resoundingly answered the question of whether or not he is a good coach.

Xhekaj has been great and has had a positive affect on Mailloux, for which Houle's online critics should give some credit to Houle for pairing them together to begin with. Much like anything involving Houle they won't which is just more evidence of their malignant bias.

The anti-Houle brigade were entirely unable to explain exactly what it was about his coaching that was so terrible which is common for mob behaviour. He was just the layman's scapegoat and the path of least resistance for those looking to assign blame but without the tools to correctly diagnose the issue.
Fans are entitled to their opinions, but man....some of them are difficult to hear/read day after day.

Wtf was this.... suspension is not enough.. retribution on the ice is needed for this punk.

Isn't he the guy Xhekaj just fought? Hope he gets another beatdown next game they play against.

Saulnier has bullied KK despite the fact that he was destroyed by Xhekaj the night before. It just prove that enforcers don't have such power to deter opponents' violence.

I don't even care whether he is good, very good or just okay. The only reasons Houle is being hated on is that he was first hired by MB which, as we all know, is a crime against humanity, and therefore he had to bad. Another crime was not playing through the roof every single prospect above every single other player, even though if you cared to look at the overall body of work, he has given plenty of opportunities to all players. Finally, another crime is to be the son of Peanut.

All of those arguments are sound and have a very high correlation with being a bad coach, of course.

Funny thing is, playing all prospects above trying to have a balance to still have some success, which the mob is asking for like maniacs, is exactly what Lefebvre was preaching.

Memory is so short. People remember they hate Lefebvre, but they don't remembers why, so they repeat past mistakes. Memory is so short we will have this discussion again as soon as the next losing streak comes around.

Houle is light years ahead of Lefebvre.
Every player the Habs recall is always ready and never looks out of place. Houle is doing a great job with developing young players while being cognizant that paying customers want to see their team win.

Under Sly player would go in the AHL after a good 1st camp and then would come back and look worse then would go back in the AHL and would come back in the NHL looking even worse. Houle is much better atm.
